About this role
In this critical role, you will lead the estimation process for our most complex electrical projects, ensuring precise cost assessments and competitive bids. * Analyze existing site conditions and contract documents (e.g., plans, specifications) to determine required scope not already indicated.
* Establish working relationships with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to solicit accurate and current pricing of plumbing fixtures, HVAC equipment, piping and sheet metal material, and miscellaneous material pricing.
* Develop working relationships with local Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection trade partners to maintain active list of qualified bidders for projects.
* Perform constructability analysis of project documents. Communicate design and constructability issues to project team and stakeholders per the project contract.
* Provide first costs analysis and participate in life cycle analysis with Design team.
* Participate in decision making process with Operations and Procurement to determine MEP trade partners to utilize in project pursuits.
* Lead company-wide or regional MEP strategic initiatives and/or special projects.

* Lead integration of MEP Operations staff during MEP PreCon process and serve as resource to guide and consult with staff through to construction. * Coordinate equipment pricing with SourceBlue for Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection estimates.
* Conduct value analysis to define cost efficient alternatives to proposed Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems, materials, and equipment.
* Serve as liaison with Engineers, Design consultants, Trade partners, other Turner staff, and Owner's representatives to resolve Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection issues related to project preconstruction efforts.
* Prepare estimates and proposals for contract types (e.g., lump sum, GMP, Cost Plus).
* Participate in estimate reviews with Design team and client.
* Participate in project hand-off to Operations to ensure proper transfer of knowledge from Preconstruction to operations.
* Participate in authoring scope requisitions for bidding/procurement of Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems; coordinate with fellow estimators to eliminate scope gaps and overlaps.
* Evaluate of trade partner proposals relative to their scope of work and determine scope coverage and manage identified scope gap risks.

* Conduct reviews of design documents for completion; assemble comments and requests for additional information needed to provide complete estimates.
* Visit project sites to evaluate existing conditions, identify and capture scope not included in design documents.
* Provide pricing for value engineering, alternates, options, and special studies.
* Utilize Building Information Models (BIM) for quantity take-off and visualization to support complete estimate preparation.
* For subcontracted work, prepare Trades bid proposal forms and bid recording sheets, evaluate trade partner input for scope inclusion, and identify scope gaps and overlaps, coordinate with other staff managing trades.
* Review estimate for complete and accurate pricing within estimate or Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), reflect recent pricing data and Trades bids or budgets.
* Contribute to estimate review meetings with internal stakeholders to validate estimate prior to client delivery.
* Lead coordination of operational input during estimating, bidding, and GMP process; confirm estimate incorporates detailed General Conditions/Requirement (GC/GRs) study, site logistics, and Building L.I.F.E. as prepared by project Operations team.
* Develop, lead, or support assembly of estimate, bid or GMP documents required by and submitted to owner, coordinate requirements with contract agreement.

Qualifications:
* Minimum of 6 years of related experience performing detailed estimates for specialty scopes of work (e.g., framing, drywall, acoustic ceilings, specialty ceilings, delegated design cold formed metal framing, and doors, frames, hardware)
* Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Building Construction, or related field of study a plus, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
* Experience in project engineering, field supervision, or purchasing
* Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, Trade practices
