General Summary
This position is responsible for the leadership and oversight of all aspects of operational accounting, financial management, risk identification and business administration for construction operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis, compliance, budgeting and forecasting. This position generally provides oversight of operational finance for one region.
Essential Job Accountabilities
Provide strategic financial guidance and serve as a financial business partner to construction operations leaders in support of the Company's strategic goals
Provide oversight of the Region/Division Operational Finance Managers and administrative staff in order to provide comprehensive financial and accounting support to RVPs in compliance with Company policies
Coordinate consolidation of operations financial analysis, such as revenue, gross profit, margin, SG&A, Operating Cash Flow/DSO/working capital, work in progress and other financial reporting requirements in compliance with GAAP and Company policies to ensure that all processes are completed in an efficient, timely and accurate manner
Assist in the development of short- and long-term operational plans by providing the financial information and analysis required to ensure successful development and implementation of the operational strategy
Maintain the SOX, DBE, risk identification, subcontract insurance bonding requirements and internal controls in compliance with accepted company standards to minimize exposure and risk
Assist with development of the annual budgets, long range forecasts and quarterly and periodic forecasts to ensure that the financial goals are set based on internal growth expectations and external competitive conditions
Liaise with Operations Finance leadership and corporate functions on financial and compliance matters to facilitate the timely and complete communication of financial information necessary to make informed decisions essential to the effective running of the business
Assist management teams with the development and implementation of their construction operational plan elements to ensure alignment with the company's strategic plan and financial goals/objectives
Coordinate annual, quarterly and periodic variance analysis to provide accurate and timely information on financial performance relative to budget expectation
Partner with Corporate Accounting and the Shared Services Center (SSC) to manage and coordinate operations deployed shared services and process improvement initiatives to improve service and efficiency
Coordinate financial matters such as working capital management and capital expenditures in compliance with GAAP and Company policies
Work closely with the Corporate Accounting, Internal Audit and Compliance Managers to ensure compliance with Granite corporate requirements, including reviewing and monitoring internal controls to strengthen/modify procedures where appropriate
Support internal and external audits by providing information requests in a timely manner
Provide oversight and leadership for all facets of project business administration including payroll, purchasing, payables, billings and cash management to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards
Employ consistent best business practices and standards across construction operations in alignment with company initiatives to improve consistency, accuracy and efficiency in the development and implementation of operational plans
Manage operational finance and administration staff to ensure timely completion of assignments and development of skills necessary to develop a productive, high performing engaged team. Maintain operational finance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Coach, counsel and discipline employees
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field required
MBA preferred
CPA or equivalent designation a plus
Work Experience
7+ years practical work experience
3+ years management/supervisory experience
Progressive and well-rounded experience in business related functions in the heavy-civil construction and construction materials industry or related field
Large enterprise system experience (JD Edwards/Oracle e1 experience a plus)

Strong analytical, operational, organizational and interpersonal aptitude.
Ability to promote a high-quality control environment while simultaneously considering business drivers and issues.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements (SOX, US GAAP, contract & collection law, etc.)

Assist Director in establishing a Project Quality Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed (RACI) Plan Model to provide guidance to our project teams on how to effectively implement and manage to Project Quality Minimums.
Assist in creating a process for capturing “Best Practices” across the Company in a centralized database to implement utilization of our database, and subsequently monitor and suggest process improvements.
Navigate Granite's cloud-based Autodesk Build Project/Quality Management Platform tutorials which provides capabilities to manage project document and drawings, RFI's, Submittals, Meetings and more.
Assist in establishing process for creating effective Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) that measure and coordinate quality related inspection & testing activities and identify hold-points with all required parties & stakeholders.
Assist and support the development and effective use of checklists to guide construction activities through process of acceptance of work for Definable Features of Work (DFOW).
Participate with project QMS audits to identify opportunities for improvement and verify conformance with project specific and Granite quality requirements as identified in Project Quality RACI.

About this Role
FiberTel is looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator for our Reno, NV to Sacramento, CA project.
The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for safely and skillfully operating and maintaining construction equipment (cable plows, backhoe, mini excavator, skid steer, rock saw, and other utility construction equipment). This position will be responsible for the safe transportation of materials and equipment. He/she will load and unload equipment and material as needed.
Pay: $27-35/hr base -
Subject to CA an NV Prevailing Wage Rates which may change depending on work location and job duties. Rates can go upwards of $65-74/hr.
Travel: This position will be focused on a project spanning Sacramento, CA to Reno, NV.

FiberTel is hiring CDL Driver/Laborer for our Sacramento, CA to Reno, NV project.
The CDL Driver - Construction will drop off equipment and materials in the morning and take them back to the lot at the end of the shift. About this Role

Ensure compliance with supplier and owner specifications by sampling and testing construction materials, including soil, aggregate, hot mix asphalt (HMA), and Portland cement concrete (PCC), to maintain quality standards
Oversee and assign work schedules for technicians in the absence of the QC Operations Supervisor, Engineer, or Manager to ensure optimum use of resources and maintain productivity
Prepare and communicate testing and inspection results to supervisors and plant personnel to ensure quality control standards are satisfied and necessary process changes are implemented
Follow the requirements for materials quality outlined in the company management system (GMS) and the Construction Materials Playbook to ensure compliance and maintain high standards
Review sampling, testing, inspecting, and design results from technicians to ensure quality standards are met and provide feedback for continuous improvement
Train and mentor technicians on sampling, testing, and inspection of construction materials to prepare them for additional certification and enhance their skills
Participate in the mix design process and develop an understanding of supplier and owner specifications to ensure accurate and compliant mix designs
Develop an understanding of laboratory standards associated with national and state laboratory accreditations (AASHTO, ASTM, local DOT), including lab equipment calibration and maintenance, to maintain accreditation and operational excellence
Interact with production personnel to ensure material process changes are implemented effectively, ensuring materials meet specifications
