POSITION PURPOSE
Fabricator II lays out, cuts and tools a variety of materials, including but not limited to marble and granite slabs according to project specifications in preparation for installation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITES
- Work with the Shop Manager to read work orders to determine production and project specifications.
- Examine materials, ingredients, and products visually or with hands in order to ensure conformance to established standards.
- Lay out and cut out sinks and tubs to specification.
- Select appropriate tools and sequence of tools for shaping and edging according to project specifications
- Hone, polish, and grind material to specification
- Shape, trim or touchup roughed-out designs with appropriate tools to finish carvings.
- Ensure surfaces are smooth and finished to specification
- Modify mixing, grouting, grinding, or cleaning procedures according to type of installation or material used.
- Wash polished surface and apply sealer and/or curing agent when appropriate and to specification.
- Inspect and handle slabs to ensure quality is maintained throughout the fabrication and transportation of material.
- Assists field installations and deliveries as needed.
- Participates in daily huddles and practices safety as a priority on all job sites.

- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 years of constructions or Marble & Granite experience
- Strong knowledge of all slab materials
