The National Institute for Student Success at Georgia State University (NISS) is dedicated to helping colleges and universities identify and resolve institutionally-created barriers to equity and college completion. Through diagnostic services and practitioner-led coaching, collectively known as NISS high-touch services, the Institute enables campus leaders to implement proven student-success systems and data-driven interventions and to enact systemic change to institutional processes and structures.
The
NISS Acceleration Grants Program Administrator
will be the primary person responsible for the coordination and review of the NISS Acceleration Grants program. This includes managements of the pre-award and post-award administration of all sponsored research activities related to the program, include grant proposals, budget preparation, expenditure review, program coordination, policy compliance, and personnel matters. The NISS Acceleration Grants program is a first-in-the-world initiative that provides direct funding support to select NISS clients to assist in the development and implementation of student success programs and innovations as provided for by the NISS Playbook recommendations. Grant recipients will receive implementation coaching and targeted funding to support those initiatives. Reporting to the NISS Grants Manager, the Grants Administrator will provide direct day-to-day oversight and administration of the program through engagement with and reporting of client interactions and operations of their Acceleration Grant.

Examples of Duties

Coordinates and administers the NISS Acceleration Grants program from pre-award through post-award of all grants Develops and oversees grant proposals and budgets in compliance with federal, state, local, and University guidelines for the college or entity. Prepares and implements agreements and develops contract negotiations between the NISS as the sponsoring agency and its higher education institutional clients. Acts as liaison between various grant recipient project leads, department heads, faculty, legal, or research offices, and the NISS to ensure the success of the proposal submission and overall administration of the grant. Acquires and maintains knowledge of program implementation, research activities, grant acquisition archives, and records. Manages and oversees the process of the daily flow of paper, electronic documents, and communications related to proposals, awards and contracts. Maintains the database, tracks all sponsored activities of NISS client implementation work in the administration of the grant. Performs in-depth reviews of the award documents and award notifications throughout the grant and/or contract process. Designs and prepares grants and contract reports. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:



Minimum Hiring Standard:


Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Knowledge of general rules, policies, and procedures governing higher education. Knowledge of grants and contracts, administrative and budget activities, processes, and procedures. Knowledge of basic computer operations and software, such as spreadsheets, databases, word processing, presentations. Effective time management and organizational skills. Effective oral and verbal communication with external and internal customers. Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, and exhibit excellent customer service.

The College of Medicine Sponsored Research Administrative Services (SRAS) Unit is currently seeking a Grant Proposal Specialist (GPS) (College Grant Officer) to provide grant proposal support to a group of departments and centers within the College of Medicine.

This position will report to the SRAS Pre-Award Manager and will be primarily responsible for proposal development with additional responsibilities relating to policy knowledge and guidance.

This position will also have responsibility for providing exceptional customer service through timely response and follow-up related to these duties.

This position may be eligible for remote work for candidates with prior research administration experience.
