The Role
The Customer Account Representative provides superior customer service to maintain consumer relationships and meet company account management expectations while adhering to company standards, policies, and procedures. This role positively impacts customer growth and revenue through sales activities, account management, and providing total customer satisfaction. Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours/days of work are Monday through Saturday, store open to close hours with SUNDAY'S OFF along with one other weekday off. Schedules and hours per week/overtime work may change throughout the year as dictated by management and business needs.
Compensation
The Customer Account Representative position is paid hourly in accordance with Home Choice!'s usual payroll procedures. In addition to an hourly rate, the Customer Account Representative position is paid out WEEKLY along with all companywide roles.

GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assessing financial risk by performing underwriting duties. These duties include, but are not limited to, decision-making and approval for prospective and renewal customers (risks) and alternate plan designs and changes related to new or existing customers.
This position will be with Stratacor, an affiliate of Delta Dental of Minnesota.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Develop an understanding of and (through underwriting) profitably grow the company's market position
2. Collaborate with Sales Representatives and Account Management personnel to determine the most appropriate and profitable rate/fee/plan design/contract length to propose to prospective and existing customers
3. Utilize corporate rating policies and formulae to ensure corporate profitability goals are met
4. Perform functions associated with underwriting business to ensure rates/fees are produced accurately and in a timely manner
5. Gain a thorough working knowledge of all rating methods and formulae used, and be able to complete all basic underwriting independently
6. Utilize advanced mathematical and statistical methodology in the analysis of customer underwriting and risk data
7. Primary focus is on "large group" business
8. Develop a working relationship with underwriting department members and understand the function of each
9. Develop and maintain a working relationship with other company departments and understand their impact on underwriting workflow and how underwriting affects other departments
10. Represent the Underwriting Department to external parties, including brokers/consultants, existing and potential group customers, etc
11. Other duties as assigned by management
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Minimum of a 4-year college degree in business, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
2. Work experience in the health insurance industry with 1 to 3 years of underwriting experience. Dental underwriting experience is preferred

The starting salary range for this position is between $52,500.00 to $65,750.00 annually. Salary offers will typically be made in the listed range. This position will primarily focus on conducting national visitor use monitoring (NVUM) surveys at recreation sites across the Chippewa National Forest. Prospective candidates would be expected to interact directly with National Forest visitors to complete surveys at pre-determined locations and times using established survey protocols and questions.
These NVUM surveys help to develop an estimate of the recreation use on national forests. Data collection methods, including onsite surveys and traffic counters, provide the US Forest Service with data on visitor satisfaction, recreation activity patterns, demographics, and visitor satisfaction. NVUM information assists Congress, Forest Service leaders, and program managers in making sound decisions that best serve the public and protect valuable natural resources by providing science-based, reliable information about the type, quantity, quality, and location of recreation use on public lands. This position provides excellent experience for candidates who wish to pursue a career with the USDA Forest Service as NVUM surveys are completed on every National Forest and Grassland on a five-year cycle.
In addition to conducting NVUM surveys, selected candidates will also work with recreation staff on the Chippewa National Forest to complete recreation site and trail maintenance projects. Selected candidates may also support Ranger District administrative staff by providing customer service for visitors at Ranger District Offices.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Marginal Duties
· Administrative support at Ranger District Offices including answering phones, interacting with forest visitors, and providing visitor education at Ranger District Offices.
· Completing recreation site and trail maintenance tasks under the direction of Forest Service Staff. This may include mowing, brushing, cleaning and stocking outhouses, general carpentry, installation and maintenance of fire grates, and painting/staining facilities and amenities.

· Driver's License.

· Ability to operate a pickup truck or other 4WD vehicle on unpaved roads.
This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger.
