This role will coordinate a complex, multi-stakeholder project celebrating America's 250 years of independence as well as our historic landmarks, sites, and parks. The project is funded by several large multi-million-dollar federal grants and private/philanthropic contributions.

Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities
Grant Monitoring & Compliance
Establish robust grant monitoring routines (financial, programmatic, risk/compliance) for both federal awards and private funds; maintain clear documentation and audit readiness at all times.
Operationalize requirements under OMB Uniform Guidance (allowable, allocable, reasonable costs), indirect cost limitations, and approvals/permits; maintain evidence of compliance.

Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of funding mechanisms, funding requirements, budget conditions, and spending status for all grants and awards.
Track deliverables to commitments in cooperative/task agreements and private funding agreements; drive timely issue resolution and decision-making with stakeholders.
Financial Stewardship
Coordinate with Finance to align budgets, encumbrances, payments, and reconciliations across federal and private sources; maintain clear linkage between budgets and deliverables in Fluxx.
Develop guidance, templates, and toolkits to ensure timely submission of narrative and financial funder reports; ensure that funder financial reports are both timely and accurate.
Prepare drawdown/supporting documentation, maintain auditable trails, and contribute to internal/external financial reports.
Data, Systems & Reporting
Maintain accurate grant records (applications, agreements, payments, reports, closeout); uphold data integrity standards and naming conventions.
Coordinate reporting cycles; aggregate outcomes, metrics, photos/media, and narrative.
Risk & Quality Assurance
Maintain a live risk register (financial, compliance, schedule, stakeholder, reputational); propose mitigation strategies and document decisions.

Grant Administration (10%)

The Development Team at Children's Law Center (CLC) is charged with raising private dollars to fund the work CLC staff do each year to carry out the mission of the organization. We build relationships with donors from local, regional and national foundations, law firms and corporations and individuals to give annual and multi-year gifts. Each year the team raises more than $4 million through a variety of campaigns, events and personal solicitations.
Job Summary
The Grants Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Development Team by managing the full lifecycle of institutional grants. This includes coordinating grant applications and reports, tracking deadlines and deliverables, aligning grant budgets with programmatic needs and ensuring compliance with funder requirements. The Grants Manager will serve as a central liaison between Development, Finance and Program teams to ensure strategic and effective use of grant funding.
Role Responsibilities
Grants Coordination and Project Management
Manage the full grant life cycle in coordination with external grant writing firm, including prospecting, proposal development, submission, reporting and stewardship for foundation, corporate and government grants.
