About the Job Atlanta Legal Aid Society ("Legal Aid")seeks an experienced Grants Manager to work at its headquarters in downtown Atlanta. Founded in 1924, our non-profit law firm represents low-income people in a variety of civil legal matters, including family, housing, consumer, public benefits, education, and health law, primarily in a five-county service area (Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett Counties). As a member of the Development Team, the Grants Manager reports to the Senior Director of Development. This position is responsible for overseeing the non-government grants process, encompassing grant writing and managing funder relationships. Essential skills for this role include strong writing, data analysis, program budgeting, and project management, with a particular focus on outcome measurement.
Responsibilities:
Managing active non-government grants to ensure compliance with requirements, including calendaring, periodic reports, and re-application deadlines.
Developing compelling funding proposals, letters of interest, and non-government grant application narratives, including budget creation, in collaboration with program staff, finance, and the Executive Director.
Submitting grant applications via paper or online portals and maintaining a list of passwords.

Maintaining a master calendar of grants and prospects, and all associated files and correspondence.

Provides technical or topical expertise, information, training and problem resolution for the compliance aspect of the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), which is a federally funded grant program. Reviews and analyzes all phases of grant compliance and accountability. Research and reviews past grant documents, federal manuals, maps, county websites, etc. to determine compliance status. Works with grantees to obtain favorable compliance status. Provides annual training to inspection/evaluation team, completes park inspections as needed and monitors unresolved compliance issues and acts as liaison between grantees and the National Park service.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference may be given to applicants with:
* State or Federal government experience
* Knowledge of/experience in grants, contract administration or knowledge of appraisal standards for federal land
* Compliance enforcement experience
Bachelor's degree in business/public administration, finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university; or four (4) years of job-related experience in grants management, public funds administration, or accounting.
