Position Description
The Grant Management Specialist in CHHS works on a collaborative team to operationalize the strategic direction of the College. Reporting to the CHHS Finance and Grants Manager, this position will provide support to the Dean's Office (to include the Grants Office) to develop grants management systems and procedures. The Grant Management Specialist will be assigned to specific grants to provide direct support and those grants may be in the Day Health Institute, a CHHS Academic Department, the Dean's Office, or a combination. This position will work with the Office of the Controller and the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs to ensure compliance with funding agencies as well as the University's accounting standards.
The Grant Management Specialist will work collaboratively with faculty and staff across the college, the CHHS Grants office, the Dean's office, the Day Health Institute, CHHS Academic Departments, the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs, the Sponsored Projects Accounting and Compliance Office, and the University Advancement office to ensure the smooth management of grants within the College of Health and Human Sciences.
Responsibilities
Grants Accounting - 70%
The primary responsibility of the Grant Management Specialist is to provide direct accounting support to a portfolio of grants, as assigned by the Dean's Office. The Specialist will have in depth involvement on these projects, but will also provide broad accounting support to all CHHS grants.
Directly manage the financial aspect of a portfolio of grants (to include within the Day Health Institute, CHHS Academic Departments, and others) and as identified by the Dean's Office based on funding and priority
Meet with Principal Investigators to gain thorough understanding of program goals and budget
Support project personnel during proposal development and after award to ensure their understanding and delivery of proper grant management
Provide oversight, review of, and support to staff for grant disbursements to ensure conformity with all appropriate regulations, rules, and policies
Keep apprised of and abide by university policies and procedures
Reconcile and prepare required financial reports for grants
Develop and maintain positive relations and communications with funding agencies, colleagues, and other internal constituents
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
Strategic Leadership - 20%
Help build, bolster, and monitor policies, practices, and systems that support grant activities across the college
Identify areas for development that would create better supports for grant personnel
Collaborate with the CHHS Dean's office, CHHS Grants office, the Day Health Institute, CHHS academic departments, and units across the university in the furtherance of continual improvement of systems and structures that support efficiencies and effectiveness of grant activities across the university

Required Qualifications
At least 2 years of full-time professional experience in a job that included accounting and/or budget management work
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Experience managing the fiscal requirements of grants

Demonstrated proficiency in Excel
Demonstrated ability to develop required financial reports for grants
Experience working in a higher education setting

Salary for Announcement
Under Colorado law, MSU Denver is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
This position is subject to grant funding availability. The anticipated hiring range that the University reasonable expects to pay for this position is $58,000 - $64,000.

What You'll Be Doing:
SafeHouse Denver is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Grants Manager (independent contractor) to lead the execution of all new and recurring applications, monitoring compliance and reporting outcomes for our agency with funders. This position is accountable for managing the overall revenue expectations as outlined in our fiscal year's budgeted goals related to governmental, corporate, and traditional foundation funding. Grants Management

Funder Relations

Internal / Department
: The Grants Manager will produce grant status reports for the Leadership Team, submit information for press releases, and engage in the revenue forecast process periodically. You will be expected to proofread all funder correspondence and agency collateral, including the Annual Report financial and donor information. Additionally, you will participate in key events and meetings, support other fundraising initiatives, and maintain positive relationships with all staff.

**Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, the Grants Manager is primarily responsible for developing and implementing grant seeking strategies that increase government grants revenue and ensure efficient and effective grant-funded programming across the organization. Essential functions include proactively coordinating grants opportunities with program leaders by researching funding opportunities, writing proposals, managing a portfolio of grant funders, ensuring compliance with grant agreements and reporting requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepares annual grant applications and grant reports including compiling and analyzing program impact data
· Research government programs for new grant opportunities
· Directly manages and oversees annual government grants pipeline development and sets funding targets, utilizing donor and funder database
· Measure and track grant outcomes to quantify the grant success and to inform reporting and grant impact.
· Responsibility for $1M+ in annual grants funding with expectation to lead in building and growing a pipeline for long-term sustainability
· Assists with program development and evaluation to maximize funding
· Partners with program managers in major donor proposal development and cases for support
· Performs all other duties as assigned

Salary Range: $62,000-$72,000 annual

Minimum Qualifications of Position
· Bachelor's Degree in related field
· Minimum 5 years of experience in grant writing and reporting or administration
· Demonstrated track record of successful five-and six-figure grant proposals
· Experience with effective grant seeking tasks, funder cultivation and relationship management, program development, proposal development, grant management and reporting, and funder stewardship
· Own transportation with valid driver's license and state-mandated insurance
Preferred Qualifications of Position
· Experience and comfort with program evaluation standards and stewardship reports
· Previous successful government grant seeking for human services related field
· Previous creative or technical writing experience
Knowledge and Skills
· Intermediate to advanced understanding of donor management software or CRM systems
· Experience in data management software, including Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel

University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department: Centers for American Indian and Alaska Native Health Job Title: Grant Lifecycle Coordinator (Research Services Principal Professional) #: 00828779 - Requisition #: 35794 The Colorado School of Public Health (ColoradoSPH) has an opening for a Grant Lifecycle Coordinator full-time position with the official title of Research Services Principal Professional. This position will be responsible for the management, development, implementation, and oversight of all pre- and post-award functions for CAIANH, assuring compliance with sponsor guidelines, University and departmental policies, and all grant application procedures and guidelines, as well as serving as primary liaison between CAIANH Principal Investigators (PIs) and the Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC).
This position will be faced with multiple priorities and will be required to be flexible, adaptable, and able to articulate thoughts and explanations to those with varying levels of understanding in finance and budgeting. They must have a strong attention to detail, the ability to take initiative, and a highly responsive communication style. They are expected to have knowledge of the University's fiscal systems, rules, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Award Management (20%)
* Member of the grant-preparation team for CAIANH grants under the guidance of the Senior Grant Lifecyle Manager and the CAIANH Associate Director, strategizing with the research team on budget preparation, interpreting the NIH Application Guide, preparing grant applications in ASSIST or other electronic submission formats, and providing consultation on key components of grantsmanship.
* Independently develop or assist faculty in the development and review of a working budget for certain grant applications dependent on grant complexity, as well as the development or preparation of F&A calculations, consortium agreements and scopes of work for subcontracts, budget justifications, as well as other sponsor-required documentation.
* Independently work with the PI to route and submit grant applications, contracts, and subcontract agreements, as assigned by the Senior Grant Lifecycle Manager, in accordance with all deadlines.
* Coordination of all information needed for OGC to respond to Just-In-Time requests from the sponsors for assigned grants within the time frame required.
Post-Award Management (60% of time)
* Maintain a collegial and productive partnership with OGC post-award to contribute to post-award management related to award restrictions, billing and invoice issues.
* Utilize CAIANH's financial management system for projecting and tracking expenses
* Collaboratively review with PIs Notices of Award for accuracy, funding cuts, and/or restrictions, address any possible changes from original funding announcement and grant proposal.
* Consult with PIs and project staff regarding allowability of proposed expenditures on sponsored funding.
* Prepare monthly reconciliation of grants and contracts, review expenditures to validate compliance with Federal, State, and University guidelines and policies.
* Support personnel effort projections to be carried out by PIs for assigned grants.
* Assist faculty in maintaining a comprehensive calendar to track all important dates related to grant submissions and renewals.
* Support PIs in executing and monitoring of subcontracts, invoicing, and cash receipts, as well as the preparation and routing of amendments.
Other Fiscal Responsibilities (20%)
* Support PIs with planning and tracking personnel budget allocations, incorporating recommendations for salary increases on an annual basis, the varying needs of grants for staff time and effort, and projections of staff salary coverage.
* Understanding and executing complex guidelines and regulations for salary caps, facilities and administrative cost calculations, funding restrictions.
* Ensuring PIs are aware of and prepared to implement standardized fiscal policies and procedures across CAIANH projects.
* Perform journal entries and payroll transfers as needed to correct spending within speed types or account codes.
* Act as the Procurement Specialist, gathering receipts, allocating faculty procurement and travel card expenses, ensuring that monthly reports are completed, submitted and approved on a timely basis, ensures payment of supplies and services are compliant with University policies.
* Along with the Center Associate Director, develop annual budgets for department funds.
* Along with the Center Associate Director, monitor expenses on department speedtypes and make transfers as needed.

The starting hiring range for this position has been established as $65,000-$73,000.
