Primary responsibilities include the preparation of proposals and grant applications to new and established sources, and the performance of responsible professional work when researching, identifying, developing, and responding to grant opportunities in areas that support EVCHC programs. Position Responsibilities and Functions: • Researches and identifies new public, corporate, foundation and private funding opportunities to match EVCHC priorities. • Generates high-quality proposals and supporting documents in response to solicitations, consistent with all policies and procedures of EVCHC and the requirements and guidelines of the funding agencies. • Maintains primary responsibility for grant schedules and tracking of submitted proposals. • Serves as the EVCHC liaison with private foundations. • Works with appropriate personnel to research, develop, write, and submit letters of inquiry and grant proposals. • Submits proposals for internal review and approval in a timely and efficient manner. • Responds to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals. • Maintains records and submits monthly reports to the CEO regarding grant opportunities. • As assigned by the CEO, collects, and analyzes data in order to prepare meaningful progress reports to funding sources. Position Requirements and Qualification: • Bachelor's degree in English, communications, creative writing, or a related area (Master's degree preferred) • Three years' experience as a successful grant writer. • Previous grant budget and scope of work development experience. • A proven record of securing major grants with certifiable references. • Knowledge of foundations' grant application processes and scoring criteria. • Previous successful government grants application experience. About You and this Role Liferay seeks to expand its ability to empower, inspire, and influence technical practitioners and developers by producing exceptionally engaging and accessible documentation. To support this effort, Liferay seeks motivated, independent, and servant-hearted Technical Writers to participate in organizing, writing, and revising documentation and training materials. Technical Writers work directly with their manager and technical staff to produce learning content for publication, to assess and revise existing content, and participate in tactical decision-making. This role also collaborates with other Technical Writers and with relevant Enablement and product team members. The ideal candidate has a love for technology, a passion for effective communication, is detail-oriented, independently motivate d, flexible, adaptable, and a team player. Key Objectives * Develop and maintain comprehensive product documentation, ensuring it is clear, accurate, and up-to-date. * Plan, create, and maintain courses for both developers and business users. * Collaborate with software developers and solution architects to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with best practices. * Actively engage with the Liferay community to identify learning gaps, gather feedback, and continuously improve all educational content. Required Qualifications * 2+ years of professional experience in technical writing, curriculum development, online publishing, or a similar role focused on creating educational content. * Strong verbal and written command of the English language with a proven ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely. * Experience working in collaborative cross-functional environments that include technical and business facing team members. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications * Working knowledge of Markdown, Git, and GitHub. * Ability to read and understand source code written in Java and/or JavaScript. * Experience as a software developer in Java and/or JavaScript. * Experience creating educational media (e.g., video, audio, graphics). * Experience helping others learn technical topics.
