Job Description
Responsibilities include:
For Print and Digital Print:
50% preparing files for output; 25% simple desktop publishing; 25% original creative
Creating and preparing files correctly for various printing/imaging methods, internal and external
Ensuring that customer-provided files print accurately (pre-flight)
Managing web-based ordering systems including programming and vendor contact
Floating between graphics department and wide format production department as workload requires
Knowledge and ability to extract photos, graphics, etc. from non-working files (i.e. Word) to use in appropriate programs such as InDesign, Illustrator, etc.
Ability to occasionally guide a customer through the process of providing usable artwork files
Receptive to constructive critique of design work and providing recommended revisions
General:
Communicating effectively with internal and external customers as needed
Maintaining, updating, troubleshooting, installation and overall support of all hardware and software company-wide
Tracking work time on special projects as needed
Backing up work files to backup drive in graphics department and off-site drive on a regular basis
Requirements
Qualifications:
5+ years experience working proficiently with Adobe Creative Cloud; including InDesign, Acrobat, and Photoshop, with proficiency on both Mac and PC platforms
Experience/proficiently with RTA Vinyl plotter/cutter (Graphtec-Summa)
Experience with variable-data imaging
Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher)
Experience with MailChimp (or similar) for Email Marketing campaigns
Pre-press, Offset Printing, Wide-Format and Digital-Imaging experience including finishing, laminating, mounting
Ability to manage tight deadlines (while multi-tasking) and thrive on pressure
Attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (spelling and grammar)
Timely, stylish and original creative design ability
Ability to maintain a well-organized filing system and clean work environment
Must be able to multi-task and enjoy fast-pace working environment
Ability to learn new processes quickly (sometimes under tight deadlines)
Must be a team player and do it all with a smile and a positive attitude
