In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality design production across digital and print channels, ensuring visual consistency, technical accuracy, and on-brand presentation. You'll work within established creative systems to adapt and resize assets, prepare files for production, and support the design team in bringing campaigns and content to life across multiple platforms.

This position reports to the Digital Experience Manager and is based out of our San Diego office.
As the Graphic Designer, you will have an opportunity to:
Design Production & Execution
Prepare and deliver production-ready files for digital and print applications (e.g., social graphics, emails, web banners, print ads, packaging, POS displays).
Resize and reformat creative assets based on specs (e.g., multiple aspect ratios, regional/localization versions, platform-specific dimensions).
Execute design iterations while ensuring visual accuracy and brand consistency.
Assist in the creation and application of templates, style guides, and brand toolkits.
Collaboration & Workflow
Work closely with designers, marketers, and copywriters to understand creative intent and apply it accurately in final production files.
Maintain organized layer structures, file naming conventions, and asset libraries.
Help manage version control and assist with proofing and final checks before file delivery.
Support creative QA for campaigns and launches across email, web, and social platforms.
Technical Quality Control
Ensure all output meets technical specifications (color profiles, resolution, bleed/safe zones, file formats, accessibility compliance, etc.).
Prepare final assets for vendors, printers, or development teams as needed.
Identify and resolve issues related to layout, typography, or formatting early in the process.
You have:
2-4+ years of experience in production design, graphic design, or a similar role within a creative/marketing team or agency.
Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
Excellent layout, typography, and file preparation skills.
Highly detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
Familiarity with digital asset specs (social, web, email) and basic print production standards.
You may have:

INTERACTION
This position will interact closely with the Master Team Lead, Senior Production Artist, Project Managers, Photo and Type Editors, colleagues and other related staff.
EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent. College Degree with an emphasis in Graphic Arts a plus.
3+ years of experience in Prepress or related areas, publishing or relevant duties.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Present understanding of Prepress and Print Industries' standards, competent knowledge of established production tolerances. Familiarity with the 4/c process, to include, but not limited to: spot colors, varnish, foil, die cuts, deboss and/or embossing. Thorough understanding file standards for print production (bleed, trapping, color separation, resolution, dot shapes, screen print angles, FM/Stochastic, plus exposure to a variety of paper and plastic substrates, etc.).
The qualified applicant must possess proficient computer skills; a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is required. Plus, intermediate proficiency in the following software: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Effective oral and written communication skills demonstrates close attention to detail with organized practices. Ability to articulate clearly with internal partners.
Effective organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with dedicated attention to detail.

Prioritize the daily workflow for design and production.
Manage the daily production meeting with all staff.
Keep the installation calendar accurate and up to date.
Read, understand, and execute the elements of the Electronic Work Order.
Help co-workers and customers with file transfers, FTP access, photo library options, online proofs.
Prepare art files according to the electronic work order using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc.
Upload proofs to the Point of Sale software for approval.
Locate photos, understand copyright laws and release/usage requirements, have knowledge of resources to buy stock images, work with vendors to create output beyond store capability, and understand resolution options.
Operate the large format, full color printer, plotter, laminator, and application table, including loading and unloading materials, and ensuring the use of accurate settings.
Maintain accurate electronic records.
Maintain all equipment including computers, plotters, printers, laminators and production equipment.
Efficiently use ink, media and laminates and other supplies. Keep a list of needed supplies to purchase.
Prepare substrates for application, including cutting, laminating, painting etc.
Learn and understand what good production skills look like. Apply these standards to all jobs in the production process.
Weed excess vinyl from computer cut images. Be able to use multiple weeding techniques.
Check the finished product, matching with the electronic work order as a final quality control check.
Install signs using various tools and techniques as appropriate.
Clean and maintain production/design/install areas. Ensure materials are stored in an organized manner.
Budget your time to complete all work for the day.
Perform computer back-ups; archive files as necessary.
Answer the phone and assist customers as needed.
Participate in and practice the brand ideal of “Everybody Sells”. Constantly be looking for sales opportunities for the center.
Communicate with other staff members, customers, and vendors in a friendly, professional manner.
Maintain skills, keep skills updated and current, and enhance education by attending training classes, webinars or using other training materials.
Have a positive attitude. Be willing to learn and take on new challenges daily.
