Minimum of an associate degree in graphic design with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in graphic design or a related field. A highly proficient level of graphic design and print production knowledge is required. Must demonstrate advanced knowledge and ability to use InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Must be able to work at a fast pace, meet deadlines and adjust priorities as needed. Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential in this position. This position will be required to take photos using a DSLR camera; digital photography experience is preferable. Experience working in WordPress or Campaign Monitor is a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plan, execute and support the preparation, design, and layout of park district program guides, newsletters, print and digital promotional pieces.
- Support and facilitate the brand identity of Wheaton Park District facilities.
- Assist the Graphic Design Manager in securing printing bids, following through on proofs, printing and delivery.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends in color, typography, large-scale print and logo design.
- Understand and apply accessibility standards when creating digital and print publications to ensure compliance.
- Provide copy editing support for written documents.
- Distribute printed materials as necessary.
- Use a DSLR camera with proficiency to photograph programs and events as requested, occasionally on evenings and weekends.
- Create digital communications as needed; experience using Campaign Monitor or WordPress is a plus.
- Provide exemplary customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer to facilitate team building and ultimately provide a service to the external customer.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC.
Must have and maintain: valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; CPR/AED certified or obtain within one (1) year of employment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
