Job DescriptionDescription:
Here at Hawkers, creativity isn't just a department - it's a heartbeat. Our brand is built on the late-night street markets of Asia, where color, texture, sound, and flavor collide in the kind of bold energy designers dream about. With 15 (and growing) locations across the Southeast, Hawkers is an unapologetically bold, culture-forward brand that's as much about energy and storytelling as it is about food.
We're not just here to build restaurants, we're building a visual universe that captures the nostalgia, rebellion, humor, and vibrancy of Asian street culture at every touchpoint. Menus, merch, packaging, social assets, restaurant art, digital experiences - you name it, we design it.
That's where you come in.
The Role:
The Hawkers Graphic Designer thinks in color, dreams in texture, and gets genuinely excited about bringing brand vibes to life. Someone who can translate Hawkers' street-inspired soul into creative visuals that stop people in their tracks, tell rich stories, and spark the “OMG, I need to send this to _____” moments.
In this role, you'll continue shaping the look and feel of one of the most playful and creatively driven restaurant brands in the game. You'll concept and create visuals across digital, print, packaging, merch, internal storytelling, and anything else we dream up (fair warning, we dream big).
If you love bold design, fast-thinking, great food, and a little bit of controlled chaos - welcome home.
Requirements:
Create high-impact visuals for digital, print, social media, packaging, menus, signage, in-restaurant experiences, and more.
Bring Hawkers' brand personality to life through bold, vibrant, culturally inspired design.
Collaborate closely with the brand team and other departments to conceptualize campaigns, activations, and experiential moments.
Work closely with the VP of Marketing to maintain and evolve our brand identity ecosystem, ensuring consistency while pushing visual boundaries.
Translate ideas and creative briefs into concepts, sketches, and polished final assets that capture the energy of our brand.
Work closely with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Ops, Culinary, HR, and more) to support ongoing brand needs with thoughtful, engaging design.
Manage design-focused vendor relationships, ensuring high-quality partnerships, efficiencies, and production.
Stay plugged into pop culture, design trends, street culture, food culture, and creator spaces, and be open (and excited about) bringing those insights into your work.
What You Bring to the Table:
2-5 years of experience in graphic design, brand design, or creative roles (agency or in-house).
A portfolio that showcases bold creative storytelling and a love for culture-driven design.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; motion skills are a major plus.
Ability to balance creative ambition with practical application across multiple mediums.
Strong communication and collaboration skills. You know how to bring people along for the creative ride.
A willingness to embrace agility. This is a fast-moving, ever-changing industry. You're not only down for the ride, but you're energized by it.
A passion for food, culture, and the details that make a brand unforgettable.
Physical Demands:
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to lift/carry materials up to 20 lbs.
Must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach above shoulder level.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time, type, and present.
Frequent communications, verbal and written.
Potential travel to restaurant locations and community events.
What We Bring to the Table:
A chance to help evolve and maintain the visual direction of a fast-growing, unapologetically bold restaurant brand.
A creative playground where big ideas aren't just welcome, they are actually brought to life.
A collaborative, high-energy environment full of cross-functional partners who love great design.
Competitive salary, full benefits, and a clear runway for growth.
Endless inspiration from a brand rooted in flavor, culture, and storytelling.
