**JOB SUMMARY:**
The finishing operator is responsible for the machine setup, adjustments, make-readies, assist with maintenance, troubleshooting quality issues, and operation of their assigned folding gluing machine. While operating the machine, they are responsible for safely and efficiently manufacturing high quality folding cartons at or above target run speeds while minimizing waste and downtime. The machineoperator is the leader of the crew and oversees the activities of the feeder packers working on that machine. The operator must obtain and review the job ticket for items, quantities, caliper of the paperboard, and any special instruction that is informational for running the order to specification. The case specification must also be reviewed to make sure that the instructions are clear and concise prior to running the order. The operator is responsible for ensuring all make-readies are put on as quickly as possible. The operator inspects the product quality including folded score caliper, proper gluing and stacking, carton and score alignment, and case fit, and ensures that the machine is in good running condition. The operator ensures that the Leary glue and mix detection system is constantly functioning correctly. The operator is also responsible for shutting down the machine if it is to be left unattended. This position reports to the Finishing Lead, Shift Supervisor and Finishing Manager.
**JOB FUNCTIONS:** Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

**Wages for Finishing MachineOperator start at** **$23.50 per hour up to $28.75 per hour** **depending on skill level and experience.**
**Additional $1.50 shift differential for night shift.**
**JOB SUMMARY:** The person who occupies this position is expected to adjust gluing machines in order to process a flat carton order and oversee its production (complex glue experience a plus).
**JOB FUNCTIONS:** _Job functions include, but are not limited to, the following._
+ The operator is responsible for adjusting glue machinery to fit the particular style of carton being processed.
+ Once production begins, the operator is responsible for maintaining machinery at optimum speed. When malfunctions occur, the operator is to be able to detect the cause and make appropriate adjustments as quickly as possible.
+ The operator is responsible for the members of the crew working on gluer machinery. Is fully responsible in ensuring team members are working efficiently and safely. The operator is also responsible for training feeder/catcher trainees as necessary.
+ Must assume duties of the Feeder or Inspector when those persons are on breaks (see job description for Feeder/Catcher). The Operator performs the activities of Feeder/Inspector for approximately 2 hours per day.
+ Responsible for performing maintenance duties on gluer machinery; greasing, oiling, blowing off machinery, glue pot maintenance, bearing and belt replacement, and cleaning parts.
+ Able to maintain written and electronic (SAP) records of quality and production, and Ignition software. Operator goes through hourly statistical measurements (carton alignment, edge caliper, opening force, glue length, etc.)
+ Responsible for making labels per customer specs.
+ Ability and Positive attitude to teach and help fellow operators to troubleshoot all problems when called upon to do so.
**BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:**
+ 1-2 years of machineoperator experience required
+ Mechanical/technical aptitude
+ Entry-level computer skills
+ All requirements for Machine Gluer Operator in addition to the ability to set up and troubleshoot Leary, Mactron, Alpina, and Pafra glue systems
+ Feeder/Inspector experience preferred. Mechanical experience is helpful (automotive, small engine repair, etc.)
+ Finishing machine, allen wrench, screwdriver, and other related tools needed for make-ready. SAP, RF Gen, and Ingition systems.
**SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Schedules are up to 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off. However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends, and be punctual while doing so.
+ Must be willing and able to work overtime.
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignments, for extended periods.

JOB SUMMARY: The person who occupies this position is expected to adjust gluing machines in order to process a flat carton order and oversee its production (complex glue experience a plus).
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to, the following.
* The operator is responsible for adjusting glue machinery to fit the particular style of carton being processed.
* Once production begins, the operator is responsible for maintaining machinery at optimum speed. When malfunctions occur, the operator is to be able to detect the cause and make appropriate adjustments as quickly as possible.
* The operator is responsible for the members of the crew working on gluer machinery. Is fully responsible in ensuring team members are working efficiently and safely. The operator is also responsible for training feeder/catcher trainees as necessary.
* Must assume duties of the Feeder or Inspector when those persons are on breaks (see job description for Feeder/Catcher). The Operator performs the activities of Feeder/Inspector for approximately 2 hours per day.
* Responsible for performing maintenance duties on gluer machinery; greasing, oiling, blowing off machinery, glue pot maintenance, bearing and belt replacement, and cleaning parts.
* Able to maintain written and electronic (SAP) records of quality and production, and Ignition software. Operator goes through hourly statistical measurements (carton alignment, edge caliper, opening force, glue length, etc.)
* Responsible for making labels per customer specs.
* Ability and Positive attitude to teach and help fellow operators to troubleshoot all problems when called upon to do so.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
* 1-2 years of machineoperator experience required
* Mechanical/technical aptitude
* Entry-level computer skills
* All requirements for Machine Gluer Operator in addition to the ability to set up and troubleshoot Leary, Mactron, Alpina, and Pafra glue systems
* Feeder/Inspector experience preferred. Mechanical experience is helpful (automotive, small engine repair, etc.)
* Finishing machine, allen wrench, screwdriver, and other related tools needed for make-ready. SAP, RF Gen, and Ingition systems.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
* Schedules are up to 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off. However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends, and be punctual while doing so.
* Must be willing and able to work overtime.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignments, for extended periods.
* Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
* Routine Lifting up to 20 lbs.

The finishing operator is responsible for the machine setup, adjustments, make-readies, assist with maintenance, troubleshooting quality issues, and operation of their assigned folding gluing machine. While operating the machine, they are responsible for safely and efficiently manufacturing high quality folding cartons at or above target run speeds while minimizing waste and downtime. The machineoperator is the leader of the crew and oversees the activities of the feeder packers working on that machine. The operator must obtain and review the job ticket for items, quantities, caliper of the paperboard, and any special instruction that is informational for running the order to specification. The case specification must also be reviewed to make sure that the instructions are clear and concise prior to running the order. The operator is responsible for ensuring all make-readies are put on as quickly as possible. The operator inspects the product quality including folded score caliper, proper gluing and stacking, carton and score alignment, and case fit, and ensures that the machine is in good running condition. The operator ensures that the Leary glue and mix detection system is constantly functioning correctly. The operator is also responsible for shutting down the machine if it is to be left unattended. This position reports to the Finishing Lead, Shift Supervisor and Finishing Manager.

Perform other duties, as assigned
EXPERIENCE:
Strong mechanical aptitude
General math skills
Ability to troubleshoot equipment and quality issues
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Ability to stand/walk up to 12 hours per shift.
Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Visual Color Discrimination - the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors
