Responsibilities for this position include risk selection, risk retention, pricing, and profitability per divisional objectives. This position will be based in our Cincinnati, OH headquarters and will offer a hybrid work schedule. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Has the responsibility for risk selection/rejection, pricing, retention, growth, and profitability per divisional objectives. Uses independent judgement and initiative to support business goals. Maintains a high level of customer service. Analyzes coverage and limit requests and decides what terms to offer. Prices business in accordance with company guidelines. Assesses risk quality and compliance within company guidelines. Orders and screens miscellaneous reports needed in the rating and underwriting process. Develops and maintains effective business relationships with internal and external customers to attract and retain profitable business. Visits brokers to retain existing accounts, build and maintain business relationships, and develop new opportunities in support of divisional objectives. Interprets, explains, and markets products and services. Applies underwriting rules and guidelines as well as insurance laws and regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Generally, 6 months to 3 years of related experience. Excess and Surplus Lines experience is a plus. Must possess strong communication and customer service skills. Completion or progress towards completion of relevant designations such as Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Program in General Insurance (INS) or Associate of Risk Management (ARM).
