The Great Lakes Christian College in Lansing, Michigan, is a Christian academic community that aims to produce the preachers and ministers of tomorrow, as well as prepare students for careers related to the church. The school is affiliated with the Churches of Christ and is part of the Stone Campbell Restoration Movement. Student life at the college is very close-knit. It's not uncommon for professors to lunch with students, lead mission trips, host international students or be involved on campus outside of the classroom. There are many on campus activities and events, like guest lectures, motivational speakers and community outreach opportunities. Students may also partake in church organizations or even work for the church. Academics offered include more than 10 majors, such as Advanced Biblical Studies, Communication, Psychology/Counseling, Cross-Cultural Ministries and more. All students are required to take Bible Theology classes, and will acquire a Bible Theology degree in addition to the degree in their educational area of choice. Admissions require students to have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.25 or score a minimum of 55 on the GED exam, and to have earned an 18 on the ACT or 820 on the SAT. Students who complete the FAFSA will be considered for academic scholarships provided by the school, based on ACT/SAT scores and GPA. Other financial aid options include institutional grants and scholarships, federal Pell, SEO, and ACG grants and direct student loans.
