Report claims that require the insurance company to be involved
Manage Tank Compliance and any foreseeable tank issues.
Inspections and repairs for NEL and GLP facilities
Facilitate and perform inspections of all NEL and GLP vehicles
Maintaining facilities up to osha standards and updating them as OSHA changes
Monitoring GLP and NEL CSA scores working with pertaining departments for failing categories.
All DOT annual filings
Compliance with Samsara with all pertaining employees on all federal, local regulations
Facilitate Audits within Samsara for driver files, oversee improving how we use Samsara
Oversee RTA/TMT and how we use RTA/TMT for DOT regs and company costs
Perform safety meetings based off need and current issues per location
Investigate, report and monitor all accidents, spills for insurance
Maintain and update all aspects of the company to stay within our captive insurance requirements
Maintain and update our safety program, tank compliance program
Manage all employees of the safety department, driver trainer development
Requirements
B.S. in Engineering, Environmental, Health & Safety, or related Science Discipline is preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Federal and State DOT, Health & Safety Trucking Regulations, especially the DOT's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, and Drug & Alcohol Regulations
Strong leadership and organization, with the ability to prioritize duties and achieve goals with limited supervision
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Proficient knowledge of computers and typical production software (e.g., MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Job Responsibilities
Perform pre-trip inspection on equipment in alignment with MPC policy and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Check tank truck/trailer or tractor/trailer for general operating requirements and make sure that all required equipment is available and in good operating condition. Note inspection and deficiencies on the pre-trip inspection form.
Drive a tank truck/trailer or tractor/trailer to transport product in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. Obey all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Follow MPC and site specific standard operating procedures for the loading and offloading process.
Perform post-trip inspection on equipment in alignment with MPC policy and DOT regulations. Complete all regulatory and customary paperwork. Ensure equipment is ready for the next shift.
Communicate all incidents, including safety and environmental concerns, according to company procedures.
Report all equipment issues in a timely manner.
Follow, maintain, and adhere to all safety rules and operating procedures, including all DOT regulations.
Physical Requirements Include
Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
Must be able to work on elevated spaces: 30+ feet on graded elevation.
Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, and/or pull 50-65 lbs.

Summary:

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in safety or in aviation preferred
If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001
Experience: Must have at least 1 year of experience performing the same or similar tasks as an operator to be considered for a training role
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as demonstrated in training presentations, written manuals and accident investigations
Display math aptitude and analytical
Skills:
Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED or work experience equivalent
Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Be able to obtain a valid passport
Be able to pass a drug screen and obtain airport security clearance, which includes a 10-year extensive employment, criminal record and residence background check

Effectively communicates all aspects of assigned job duties. Maintains regular contact with Operations Department, terminals, and vessel to avoid delays or conflicts.
Obtains, labels and transports samples to the laboratory in a timely manner as required by each specific job assignment.
Maintains assigned inspection equipment in good working order and ensures equipment is properly calibrated and stored.
Measures (gauge and temperature) products and performs all required field calculations per the API Standards, completes all required field documentation and submits reports to the Operations Department in a timely manner.
Performs specialized inspection services such as loss control, wall washings or confined space entry upon receiving required training.
Assists in the training of Probationary and Junior Inspectors.
