Based in Salina, Kansas, Great Plains Ag has been a leader in tillage and seeding equipment since its inception in 1976.
For the first two and a half years, Great Plains was located in a small shop in Salina, Kansas, before moving operations to Assaria, Kansas, in 1979.
Great Plains Trucking, a subsidiary of Great Plains Manufacturing, was incorporated in 1981 to deliver drills to the Great Plains dealer network and bring back raw materials.
Five years later, the company saw the need for equipment designed specifically for no-till and built its first no-till drill prototypes in 1981.
The Great Plains product mix was extended and diversified in 1986 with the launch of the Land Pride division.
Great Plains' range and international presence was enhanced in 2010 with the purchase of Simba International, the UK's leading cultivation equipment manufacturer.
