The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for completing specialized radiographic procedures in accordance with organizational policies and established professional standards of care. This position is accountable for the quality of the examinations completed utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment and critical thinking skills necessary to obtain accurate diagnostic images. Minimum Qualifications o Education o High school degree or equivalent required. Graduation from an accredited two-year program in radiologic technology. o Credentials o State Required: Current Medical Radiographer license or Temporary Medical Radiographer as defined by 16-006.04 Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure - 18 months after date of issuance and not renewable. Registration or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). o GPRMC Required/Preferred: BLS certification required. Physical Demands 1. Sit frequently. 2. Stand and/or walk frequently. 3. Bend, stoop and crouch frequently. 4. Reach floor-overhead frequently. 5. Ability to hear, speak and see within normal limits for age and gender. 6. Manual dexterity required within normal limits for age and gender. 7. Lifts up to 50 pounds waist to shoulder height frequently. 8. Carries up to 10# 100 feet occasionally. 9. Pushes and or pulls 20 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently.Essential Functions 1. Reviews, obtains and records patient history and reason for examination. Interprets the information needed to evaluate appropriateness of examination ordered. Tailors the examination to meet the specific needs of the patient relative to physical abilities and age-specific needs. When performing procedures requiring the use of intravenous contrast media, reviews the patient's lab values indicating renal function and consults the radiologist with abnormal findings. Reconciles the patient's list of at home medications finding any conflicts with the use of contrast media. 2. Transports patients in a safe manner. Assists the patient in preparation for the examination or procedure in a professional manner ensuring patient privacy and comfort. Performs venipuncture on patients receiving examinations requiring the use of intravenous contrast media. When doing interventional procedures is required to prepare sterile field and assist the radiologist as needed. 3. Operates equipment in compliance with manufacturing specifications, selecting proper technical factors based on the patient's body habitus, pathology, age and physical abilities and limitations. Provides radiation protection for the patient and fellow employees being cognitive of age specific issues related to radiation protection. 4. Demonstrates anatomy requested per examination adhering to department examination protocols and standards of care. Demonstrates competency in clinical function related to assessment, treatment and care of patients. Is knowledgeable in the use of intravenous contrast media and treatment of adverse reactions. 5. Prepares completed images for reading by interpreting physician. Demonstrates competency in using all software applications necessary in the completion of the examination. 6. Takes department call as assigned. 7. Demonstrates commitment to continual learning, growth and development by participating in continuing education activities and staying abreast of changing technology, new procedures and protocols. 8. Employee performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Job Summary
We're seeking an adaptable, confident, empathetic Radiology Technologist who is able to provide quality diagnostic imaging for patients and providers at Sanford Health. The Radiologic Technologist is able to work in all atmospheres including clinic, hospital, ED, and OR settings where there are a broad range of fields like fluoroscopy, surgery, orthopedics, general, and emergency for the Radiologist Technologist to work under. One of the characteristics of a Rad Tech at Sanford is the need for precision, which is important in this line of work because the providers need quality imaging to give diagnoses to their patients. Sanford Radiology Technologists employees will have opportunities for advancement into other modalities including CT, MRI, and Mammo.
Responsibilities
* Performs diagnostic imaging examinations on patients ensuring the production of quality diagnostic images
* Ensures accurate patient positioning during radiographic procedures according to provider requests
* Implements radiation safety guidelines and conducts proper radiation protection practices during the imaging process
* Ability to understand and navigate the electronic medical record (EMR) system
* Perform basic diagnostic radiology tasks and aware of general radiology protocols
* Perform mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA procedures)
Qualifications
Completion of an educational program accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles, including radiographic positioning, film/image processing, quality
control, and radiation protection is required.
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT) is required.
If working in South Dakota, candidates must obtain their ARRT certification within 60 days of hire.
In the state of Iowa, all technologists must have a permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public
Health in order to practice in the state of Iowa
If working at some clinic locations, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification may be required within the first eight weeks of hire into the position.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.
Driver's license may be required, dependent upon department.

Base Pay:
Radiologic Technologist I: $30.72 - $39.50/hour (DOE)
Radiologic Technologist II: $31.68 - $40.76/hour (eligible after probation and call readiness)
Sign-On Bonus: $4,000

Additional Certification Pay: Up to $2.50/hour extra for two additional Rad Tech certifications
