Position Summary The Lead position will be responsible for directing and delegating the daily activity of the department. Using technical drawings and schematics, troubleshoot and repair complex process and facilities equipments (e.g., filter machines, packaging machines, scales, conveyors, compressors, generators, etc.). 9. Use machine tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices to fabricate machine parts. 10. Perform various equipment preventive maintenance tasks (i.e., cleaning, inspection and lubrication) as necessary, but routinely in cases requiring advanced technical expertise and knowledge of safety procedures (e.g., electrical cabinets, machine interiors, lock out/tag out, etc.). 11. Thoroughly document maintenance activity using the CMMS, adequately communicate maintenance issues to appropriate employees (e.g., other maintenance techs, operators, engineers, supervisors, etc.), and properly utilize the maintenance inventory system. 12. Champion process improvement in assigned areas by analyzing equipment maintenance history, identifying significant causes of waste, coordinating with appropriate employees to develop root-cause solutions, and providing maintenance assistance as necessary. 13. Provide Preventative Maintenance support for the facility and equipment. 14. Repair and maintain items necessary to maintain process equipment in "Grade A" condition. 15. Assist in day-to-day support of operators, adjustments, setups, and changeovers. 16. Actively participate in the training of maintenance technicians. 17. Assist other maintenance technicians as required. 18. Follow all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by OSHA, GMP, AIB, ISO and the department. 19. Job Requirements WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Six months or more of related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience JOB ENVIRONMENT: Working with high speed automated machines and equipment in a manufacturing plant producing beverage can lids for the beverage industry. The plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. The hourly rate for this position is $25.41. Quality/Production Technician have constant pressure to produce high quality ends and to keep the production line operating. The shifts are rotating with four (4) days on and four (4) off with the shift starting at 7:00 and ending at 7:00 (12 hours). Rotates from days to nights every thirteen weeks and vise versa. PO/QI will be assigned to different areas of the plant through out a team member's work career. The production area of the plant is not climate controlled in the summer months. Must be willing to work in all areas of production and on any shift. The noise level in the work environment is loud and requires hearing protection in designated areas. Must have an excellent safety record and experience in a manufacturing environment.
