Greencastle-Antrim School District company history timeline

1807

The first public school was a one-story log building built in 1807 located on North Washington Street.

1854

Several other one-story log buildings were in operation as early as 1854.

1875

In 1875, a three-year high school was added marking the beginning of secondary education in the community, allowing children to continue their education beyond the eighth grade.

1921

Students attended this school for the next 85 years until the Brown's Mill Consolidated School was built in 1921.

1948

A home economics room was built in 1948 completing the Greencastle School System facilities.

2015

In 2015, the district assembled a high school technology committee as a means of researching classroom technology integration and sustainability.

2019

In April 2019, members from our technology committee including administrators, teachers and a parent attended a 2-day executive briefing in Reston, VA with Apple Inc.
