Accountabilities
* Provides direct patient care in an outpatient physician practice setting. Maintains an advanced knowledge base of disease entities, medications and other treatment options specific to the medical specialty. Assesses and evaluates extensive health history. Evaluates effectiveness of care and makes changes according to predetermined care plan or after consultation with physician.
* Performs phone triage accurately by involving physicians when needed. Uses critical thinking skills and advanced knowledge to handle the majority of patient concerns.
* Triages current patient population and incoming referrals as applicable. With physician input, prioritizes scheduling of office visits and testing. Works with physician that is on service to determine scheduling of emergent patients. Informs physicians of any changes in schedule.
* Identifies learning needs of patient and/or family. Works with team members and community resources to develop and carry out educational plan. Modifies the process as needed to ensure educational objectives are met.
* Assists with in-office procedures. Provides comfort and safety measures for patient before, during, and after the procedure.
* Assumes responsibility for patient safety by maintaining a safe environment. Fosters awareness of safety procedures, protocols, and adherence to patient care standards. Participates in environmental rounds to ensure safe environment.
* Champions the development, implementation and evaluation of PI projects and policies and procedures specific to the specialty area. Mentors and assists new team members until they are proficient.
* Evaluates own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards, guidelines, state statues, policies, procedures, rules and regulations, and current specific knowledge. Maintains competency through education and professional activities. Reflects on identified areas of strength that offer opportunities for growth and improvement.
* Acts as an expert resource for and coordinates continuing education for team members and hospital staff using community resources as necessary, under the direction of the manager/nurse manager.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
1 year of Clinical Nursing Experience within specialty or related applicable specialty.

Licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina
In Lieu Of The Above Minimum Requirements
In lieu of 1 year of registered nurse experience, will accept 1 year of licensed practical nurse (LPN) experience.

Job Summary
Assesses and diagnosis patients in a practice setting. Identifies outcomes, implements treatment and coordinates care. Performs and assists with oncology and infusion related treatments, therapies, and procedures.
Essential Functions
Identifies expected outcomes for patients' individualized treatment plan.
Implements identified treatment plan and coordinates all aspects of care delivery.
Provides education and counseling to patient and family members regarding identified health needs, health care activities, immunization requirements, medication effects and contraindications.
Meets specific clinical needs of oncology and infusion patients by using knowledge and expertise.
Recognizes medication mid solution incompatibilities and factors affecting stability.
Performs facility acuity coding by selecting the appropriate level of service for a diverse patient population, ensures that all pertinent clinical information is documented in the patient's medical record and supports the level of service selected.
Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, pushing and pulling. Work requires lifting 75 pounds. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms. Must possess an intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity. Must have the ability to concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or clinic conditions.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required. BSN preferred. Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of North Carolina required. Oncology experience preferred. Proficiency in IV therapy, bone marrow, spinals, thoracenteses, paracenteses and phlebotomy preferred. Oncology certification preferred. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required.

The CAT Team RN is a member of the multidisciplinary team that works to assess Behavioral Health patients across the AnMed system and to assist the Emergency Department and psychiatry providers to determine the appropriate plan of care. * RN ADN candidates must be enrolled in a BSN program within 18 months from date of hire and are required to obtain BSN within four (4) years of date of hire.
* Must maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training. Capacity to work independently, to accept supervision and work cooperatively in a team environment. Unit Details
5 South is AnMed's 26-bed Pulmonary Step-Down Unit. This unit cares for patients with respiratory disorders such as COPD, asthma, and pneumonia. AnMed earned accreditation from the DNV as Top Performers on Key Quality Measures for excellence in pneumonia and surgical care. The nurse manager for 5 South is a Palmetto Gold Award winner, who takes pride in her team. Duties & Responsibilities
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient needs utilizing the nursing process.
* Actively participates in providing patient care as defined by a multidisciplinary plan of care.
* Provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients with diverse cultural backgrounds as well as varying ages pertinent to their assigned areas.
* Manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members.
* Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, other healthcare providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care
Qualifications
AnMed will accept applications from Graduate Nurses that meet SC LLR criteria.
* Licensed Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
* 0 -1-year experience for entry-level staff nurse positions
* BSN preferred, ADN candidates must be enrolled in BSN program within 18 months of hire date. BSN is required within 4 years from date of hire.
* BLS preferred. Successful completion of hospital provided BLS course within 90 days from date of hire.
* Continues to learn and grow professionally through accepting assignments with differing patient load and complexity, clinical development programs, and involvement in professional organization.
AnMed associate degree Nurses (ADN) who were hired as RNs prior to January 1, 2013, and continue to work as an acute care Staff Nurse since that date, were "grandfathered" and the requirement to obtain BSN within four (4) years does not apply
