Essential Functions

* Coordinates care and educates physicians and other staff to facilitate the effective use of clinical and financial resources, focusing on admission, concurrent/continued stay and discharge planning needs.
* Collaborates and communicates with a diverse medical, nursing, and ancillary staff regarding strategies for improving and maintaining appropriate and timely resources.
* Serves as a resource to physicians, social workers and other staff for quality and utilization issues as well as discharge planning needs.
* Develops collaborative working relationships with medical staff members to coordinate data collection, processing, and project implementation.
* Serves as a clinical resource and consultant to provide answers to questions pertinent to area of practice and determines appropriate resources for nursing units, ancillary departments, and the community/public.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
* Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health Company or affiliate and will have direct reports.
Minimum Requirements
* Education - Associate degree in Nursing
* Experience - Five (5) years of experience in Behavioral Health

Unit Details
7 North is AnMed's 8-bed Neuro-intensive Care Unit and 8-bed Stroke Telemetry Unit. While working here you will be working in the second hospital in the state of South Carolina to be designated as a Primary Stroke Unit! Our motivated healthcare professionals have been re-designated for over 10 years. Although this unit primarily takes care of stroke patients, they also care for a variety of neurological and neurosurgical patients. Duties & Responsibilities
* Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient needs utilizing the nursing process.
* Actively participates in providing patient care as defined by multidisciplinary plan of care.
* Provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients with diverse cultural backgrounds as well as varying ages pertinent to their assigned areas.
* The Staff Nurse manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members.
* Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
Qualifications
AnMed will accept applications from Graduate Nurses that meet SC LLR criteria.
* Licensed RegisteredNurse in South Carolina.
* 0-1 year experience for entry level staff nurse positions
* BSN preferred, ADN candidates must be enrolled in BSN program within 18 months of hire date. BSN required within 4 years from date of hire.
* BLS preferred, Successful completion of hospital provided BLS course within 90 days from date of hire.
* Continues to learn and grow professionally through accepting assignments with differing patient load and complexity, clinical development programs, and involvement in professional organization.
AnMed Associate Degree Nurses (ADN) who were hired as RNs prior to January 1, 2013, and continue to work as an acute care Staff Nurse since that date, were "grandfathered" and the requirement to obtain BSN within four (4) years does not apply.

The Float Pool RN works within any of the nursing units within either Medical/Surgical or Critical Care/Telemetry, as a fill in for call offs or to flex staff for increased census. Qualifications: SC RN license with at least 1 year of hospital nursing experience required. ADN candidates must be enrolled in a BSN program within 18 months from date of hire and are required to obtain BSN within four (4) years of date of hire. For current AnMed Health Associate Degree Nurses (ADN) who were hired as RNs prior to January 1, 2013, and already working as an acute care Staff Nurse as of that date, the requirement to obtain BSN within four (4) years will be waived.

6 South is AnMed's 28-bed Adult Surgical/Med-Surg Unit. This unit primarily focuses on colon, lung, abdominal, bariatric, vascular, and trauma patients.
