    PRIMARY FUNCTION: The primary function of this position it to perform advanced systems repair and assembly by performing independent trouble shooting using various diagnostic equipment and manuals. Seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) candidate if possible. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Check the equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled, comply with PPE requirements, and otherwise prepare for duties. Uses manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to perform independent troubleshooting and repair of construction equipment. Uses lift trucks, overhead cranes, & other aides to lift or move parts into position to be repaired. Uses hand & power tools to remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, & test parts/equipment on construction equipment. Uses miscellaneous resources and computers to reference parts, get information about parts & enter data into record systems. Uses tools to disassemble/re assemble parts or equipment; cleans parts with rags, cleaners, power washer; uses test equipment to make diagnostic checks; and controls powered equipment or tools to make repairs. Climbs up onto, under, & into vehicles to gain access to all parts of vehicle. Uses overhead hoists, lift devices, forklifts & other aides to move items off vehicle (tracks, idler wheels, blades, etc.) & then to move parts to locations for disassembly, repair, then back to the vehicle for reassembly. Proficient at performing inspections, do preventative maintenance, repair engines, power train, hydraulic and electrical components. Lift/carry and position ram used to remove idlers, unbolt idlers, remove them with Uses power washers & spray paint equipment to clean & paint vehicle. Uses instruments and computers to reprogram equipment controllers. Squad Leader Duties: Assists supervisor with performance appraisals Mentor, coach and develop technicians Direct day to day job assignments and responsibilities for technicians in squad Work with squad members to ensure proper T/S techniques, and guiding them to make good decisions MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Must have a high school education or GED Work Experience: Requires four years of work experience with at least two years' experience with CAT equipment; Must be proficient in at least two mechanical systems (i.e. transmissions, engines, hydraulics, etc.) for numerous model lines. Physical: Must be able to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend and climb onto and underneath various equipment to perform diagnosis and repairs; Must be able to effectively see to perform repairs, research technical manuals, and develop written repair work order reports. Must be able to routinely and physically lift/position various parts to perform repairs/service and manually handle parts up to 112 pounds, as well as use mechanical hoist for heavier parts. Other: Must be able to effectively write repair activities on customer work orders; Must have cognitive reasoning and problem-solving skills to apply knowledge, written information and verbal instructions in repairing/servicing unusual and/or unknown technical equipment operational problems. This position may perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades; as well as solving complex problems when the crane malfunctions. This position must encompass self-sufficiency, leadership abilities, effective communication and professionalism in an effort to lead field technicians and be the liaison between HCSG management and customers. The Technician position works in a safety-first type of environment. HCSG is a 24/7 service company that requires technicians to be available on-call and provide after hour or even weekend services as required due to customer needs. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Must be able to be on-call and provide after hour services as required. * Troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and upgrading industrial hoists and cranes in the field at customer locations. * Train and mentor field technicians * Perform OSHA required hoist and crane inspections and generating inspection reports and repair orders. * Communicate with the Service Manager and Branch Manager during the day so that work can be scheduled and completed on a daily basis. * Consult with customers regarding all repair and safety related issues and discuss recommendations that will assist the customer with improving their services. * Maintain all company issued equipment, vehicle, and assets in a safe and proper working order. * Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a daily basis. Must be able to lift up to 100lbs on a rare basis. This position requires 90% of frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, overhead reaching, bending, squatting and prolonged standing and sitting. It requires occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling. The position also involves great hand and eye coordination. Heights exceedingly over 50 feet from time to time are normal to incur on a daily basis to maintain a crane. Employee will be required to travel from time to time (20-50%) and must be willing to work various shifts to accommodate needs of HCSG branches and customers. This includes on-call and overtime. Travel out of town may be required at the discretion of the company. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is normally performed inside or outside (pending customer requirements) with varying degrees of extreme hot and cold temperatures depending on the weather. During summer months, temperatures can exceed 120 degrees. This position will be frequently exposed to noise, heights, fumes, dust, and odors. Must be able to effectively deal directly with customers at site locations in a professional manner. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Must be able to be on-call and provide after hour services as required. Troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and upgrading industrial hoists and cranes in the field at customer locations. Train and mentor field technicians Perform OSHA required hoist and crane inspections and generating inspection reports and repair orders. Communicate with the Service Manager and Branch Manager during the day so that work can be scheduled and completed on a daily basis. Consult with customers regarding all repair and safety related issues and discuss recommendations that will assist the customer with improving their services. Maintain all company issued equipment, vehicle, and assets in a safe and proper working order. Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. It requires occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling. The position also involves great hand and eye coordination. During summer months, temperatures can exceed 120 degrees. This position will be frequently exposed to noise, heights, fumes, dust, and odors. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS At least 5-7 years of crane repair & maintenance experience At least 3-4 of years electrical and/or mechanical experience in lieu of crane repair & maintenance experience.
