    PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position plays a key role in supporting Gregory Poole Academy staff, and Gregory Poole technicians. This position assists with the tooling, class setup, facilitation, and delivery of training sessions. The intern will work alongside experienced technicians and trainers to ensure training environments are well-prepared and that participants gain real-world skills through guided practice. This role offers immersive exposure to technician operations, and equipment handling. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Training Coordination Assists GPA Coordinator with schedules, class announcements, room reservations and confirmations to all Service Managers and technicians. Assists with preparation of and ordering of needed training material and media. Prepare training certificates for class participants who have completed each course. Assist in delivery of tooling needed for classes at different locations. PC Utilization Assist in daily email communications. Assist in document creation and organization. Tooling and Toolboxes Ordering of Apprentice toolboxes and tools through appropriate vendors. Create inventory process for extra tooling storage. Inventory, and pack Apprentice boxes, as needed. Other Assistance with any additional department administrative office requests as needed. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Undergraduate majoring in related field. Minimum GPA 3.0 Work Experience: One year of related work experience is preferred. Physical: Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. of materials. Other: Must have the ability to communicate effectively with management, internal, and external customers. Ability to facilitate meetings and/or presentations to all size groups. Strong verbal and writing skills, intermediate level PC skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Pleasant and friendly mannerism. Ability to adapt to change, meet the on-going demands of the work environment, any delays, or unexpected interruptions. Classroom/Field Training - Percent of Time Spent = 35%+ * Participation in GPEC's Rental Development Program includes a combination of classroom training, rep ride-a-longs and jobsite visits, job shadowing, and on the job training II. Customer Service - Percent of Time Spent = 35%+ * Accepts and coordinates customer inquiries, requests (phone, walk-in or mail) for rental equipment and closes rental agreements by interfacing and negotiating with customers. * Provides rental customers' price quotes and equipment availability and delivery schedule information. * Manages or resolves customer's rental complaints and problems to the best customer satisfaction level possible. * Daily monitors and coordinates rental equipment hauling schedule to ensure timely equipment delivery and pick-up; and immediately contacts customer with any schedule updates, modifications or delivery problems. * Serves as a liaison between departments and branches for rental equipment pricing, availability, transportation, and repair. etc. * Assists with telephone collection of past due rental payments. III. Administrative - Percent of Time Spent = < 30% The administrative activities will be mainly in two areas: equipment/inventory and bookkeeping/invoicing. Individuals in this position must be trained and can perform in each main area, even though, he/she may take a stronger lead in on specific area. A. Equipment /Inventory * Ensures rental units are operational by coordinating repairs and maintenance with rental service technicians. * Approves some equipment service work orders. * Maintains current and accurate fleet service records for each unit. * Coordinates daily transportation of rental equipment. * Maintains current inventory usage records and ensure accurate and timely billing. B. Bookkeeping/Invoicing * Expedites customer credit applications in a timely manner allowing them to rent equipment. * Verifies gate logs ensuring equipment is tracked for inventory security. * Maintains rental files and contracts (i.e. rental contracts, certificates of insurance, etc.) and periodically purges and prepare them for storage. * Timely process rental equipment related purchase orders. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: College junior or senior pursuing a related BA/BS or graduate degree in Marketing, Information Management, Economics, Statistics, Math, Accounting or related field. Work Experience: Basic mechanical and product knowledge is desirable. Physical: Must be able to work for long periods while seated. Must have ability to clearly communicate with customers on the phone or in person. Excellent customer relations are a must.
