Reports directly to the department Manager. JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES) Performs all tasks under general supervision. Provides training and assistance to less experienced Electricians. Build electrical panels and test panels for production equipment to print. Performs installations and demolition on buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems using one or more trade skills (e.g., electrical, mechanical). Maintains current knowledge of all applicable procedures and safety measures. Installs and replaces electrical circuits, equipment and appliances, using hand tools and testing instruments, to supply electrical power for lighting, equipment, and machine operations. Provide power and control wiring for new equipment installations and equipment upgrades. Assist in commissioning of newly installed or upgraded equipment. Responsible for safely demolishing unused equipment and services. Oversee construction contract and service work as assigned. Order construction material as required. Assist with keeping neat and orderly records on work performed. Work with Engineering, Production Team Leads, Managers, Group Leaders, and fellow tradesmen to accomplish the desired result. Adjust schedule and work hours to accomplish the desired result, must be able to work weekends and holidays as required. Perform work assignments efficiently while being consistent with good safety practices. Report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor. Review, understand, and follow all Company specifications and procedures, and regulatory rules and requirements that are associated with the performance of this job. BASIC REQUIREMENTS Must have successfully completed an Electrician Apprentice Program, an Associate degree in Electronics/Electrical Technology or have equivalent job experience. Must pass the skilled trade assessment for this position. Must have a basic level of knowledge and experience reading wiring diagrams and engineering drawings. Must have a basic level of knowledge and experience in panel installation and wiring practices. Must have a basic level of knowledge and experience in proper conduit materials, methods, and installation. Must have a basic level of knowledge in the National Electrical Code (NEC) Ability to use various measuring devices (multi-meter, tape measure, levels, plumb bobs, etc.) Excellent attendance required. Must possess basic mechanical aptitude. Must possess good organizational and communication skills. Team oriented, self-motivated, safety and quality conscious; requiring minimal supervision. Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis. May be required to operate basic shop equipment (hoist, forklift, scissor lift, etc.) Must be able to work in confined areas, climb ladders, and work at heights of 50 feet. Must be able to wear a respirator. Must be able to distinguish colors used in color-coding wires and electronic components. Must be willing to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge. Record information required for Work Order closure time-spent on task, details on the work performed, additional work required and parts that were used. This individual will ensure the project meets all quality requirements, adheres to design specifications, and maintains the highest standards in safety, commissioning readiness, and turnover documentation. Key Responsibilities Lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program for all Electrical or Mechanical systems on a major data center project. Review design documents, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements. Develop, maintain, and enforce project-specific QA/QC plans, inspection processes, and testing procedures. Coordinate inspections with subcontractors, vendors, commissioning agents, and the project team. Track and manage quality issues, NCRs, punch lists, and corrective actions to closure. Ensure installation meets industry standards (NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.) and owner criteria. Collaborate closely with field teams to identify and resolve quality-related challenges proactively. Maintain comprehensive documentation needed for commissioning, client turnover, and compliance audits. Job Description Lone Star Corporation is searching for an Apprentice to assist install, repair and maintain electrical and auxiliary equipment. Looking for a full time candidate with strong worth ethic that takes pride in their work so that can ensure quality work is completed in a safe and timely manner. Daily Activities Assist the electrician in the various aspects of electrical maintenance, repair and construction. Prepare and assemble various apparatus required for particular work being performed. Keep work areas clean and organized. Pickup scrap wire, boxes, and other discarded materials. Assist with cleaning protective equipment (hot sticks and rubber goods). Use of various hand and power tools. Assist with loading of various materials onto trucks and/or trailers. Must be knowledgeable with the materials needed and process to strip and terminate cables. Ability to perform duties involving prolonged standing, sitting, crouching and/or stooping. Ability to push, pull, and position tools, equipment, and structural material weighing in excess of 100 pounds. Ability to accurately read and record meter data. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: * Directs daily activities of a crew of electricians assigning work to effectively meet demanding production goals; creates a positive team working environment; provides guidance in the use of various machining techniques; counsels employees and provides corrective action as necessary. * Complies with craft and shipyard safety and environmental measures. * Reads and understands basic work specifications, blueprints and schematics. * Connects and disconnects all of ship's electrical systems. * Pulls cable and makes proper radiuses and crossovers. * Troubleshoots basic motor starters, electrical circuits, and equipment. * Work as a maintenance electrician and/or construction electrician. * Installation and fabrication of packing tube, multiple cable transits, collars, conduit, and raceways. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Supervises electricians including input to selection, daily guidance and direction, corrective action and performance evaluation. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: * 3-5 years relevant work experience as Marine Electrician (in a Shipyard) or a current Plant Journey-level license from any state in the union. * 3-5 years relevant work experience as a Supervisor * High school diploma or GED preferred. * Proven skills, work history and/or applicable education will be considered in lieu of work experience. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Communicates effectively, works independently or in a group. * Ability to do basic math, i.e. add, subtract, divide and multiply. * Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English. * Basic knowledge of AC and DC electrical theory. * Proper use of a voltage tester, multimeter, and a megger. * Power generation, control and distribution. * Electric motors and controls. WORK ENVIRONMENT: * Works indoors: Frequently works indoors inside a ship or shop. * Works outdoors: Frequently exposed to typical outdoor weather while working around shipyard. * Safety equipment required: Hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, long sleeved shirts, leather shoes or boots, and a respirator. * Other Exposures: May be exposed to smoke, acids, oil, grease, free silica, asbestos dust, paint, solvents and risk of electrical shock. * Operation of equipment/tools/vehicles: Uses hand and power tools, as well as electrical testing equipment. * Required hygiene standards: Per company standards.
