ROLE OVERVIEW: Under direct supervision, performs entry-level routine activities associated with various types of assembly machine operation and/or setup. 2nd Shift: 3:30pm-12am Key Responsibilities An all-encompassing position operating assigned machinery and equipment in a safe and productive manner in accordance with Operational Standard Work and supervisor instructions Operate equipment associated with producing units, and operate material handling equipment Follows all applicable safety policies and practices, including but not limited to, use of all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ensuring machine guards and safety features are working, and promoting good safety practices Load and unload raw good and/or finished products Visual inspection of product to ensure quality Responsible for housekeeping and general maintenance functions within work area Performs 5S and TPM functions within work area Education and Experience • A high school diploma or GED is preferred. • 3+ year manufacturing production experience preferred. Knowledge and Skills Requires continuous standing and frequent lifting, carrying, stooping , bending, squatting, pulling/pushing, twisting of the trunk and neck, reaching and grasping/squeezing. Occasional climbing/balancing. Must be willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays. Execute and maintain all WSWD procedures and standards: Peer to Peer communication-Huddle to discuss status of production line with shift counterparts. Document productivity and losses Centerlines-Confirm machine settings and complete deviations when setting note to standard. CIL's-Clean and inspect equipment daily to find and report defects. Defect Handling-Complete defect tags for any defects found on the equipment. 6S-Maintain workspace organization. Breakdown Elimination-Tag parts removed and replaced during a breakdown. Place into part morgue bin Communicate with assigned Packers to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials. Load paperboard rolls onto machine ensuring its placement is correct. Assist the Packers in packing product when lines are running efficiently. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma Two years in a manufacturing environment in a similar role Good mechanical abilities Basic mathematical skills Basic computer skills Knowledge and enforcement of machine safety, i.e., lock-out/tagout procedures, hand tool safety, etc. Must maintain a clean workspace.
