The Mission Critical Emergency Fuel Driver is an on-call Class A or B driver with HazMat and Tanker endorsements whose job is to deliver fuel to destinations across the U.S. to provide exceptional customer service in challenging times. There will be times where conditions could be challenging, especially when responding to natural disasters where not all modern comforts and amenities are available. Previous events have been in response to blizzard, ice storms, tornadoes, hurricanes and widespread power outages. Foster Fuels' Drivers are responsible and required to ensure their equipment is properly maintained and all records and reports required for DOT and Corporate compliance are met. This individual will work under the direction of a full-time employee. DUTIES Drives fuel truck and/or truck and tanker (class A) to pick up and deliver fuel products as required in varying conditions. Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skill in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, or in tight loading/unloading areas. Abides by all company, DOT, State and Federal transportation safety regulations. Conducts thorough pre-trip and post trip inspections of equipment for defects and safe operating conditions before and after trips, submits a daily vehicle inspection report on the condition at the end of each day, and performs basic preventive maintenance to ensure fluid levels and tire pressure are maintained.
