Responsibilities
Operate a bus in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations

Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Senior Safety Manager in managing the DriveCam program and oversee all parties who are involved in the day-to-day DriveCam program.
Ensure that designated staff are adequately trained in the viewing, coaching counselling, and where applicable, the training of Drivers with risky behaviors.
Issue coaching and counseling to employees and recommend discipline pursuant to established Company policies to contribute to a culture of safety.
Establish an interactive relationship with yard Managers/Assistant Managers and others in Operations regarding the removal of a Driver from service for purposes of retraining, event review, and/or discipline.
Assign events/Drivers to specific Trainers, Managers and others for coaching/counselling and retraining.
Ensure all coaching, counselling, training, and discipline are performed in a timely manner.
Assist in the investigation of accidents, injuries, incidents, and inquiries.
Report concerns and recommendations to the local senior management team in a timely manner.
Report weekly or as directed on the status of Drivers, events, event categories, trending issues and other topics.
Communicate with DriveCam team and Safety and Training team, and others involved in program activities.
Ensure the timely transmission of information regarding serious safety issues, personal injury, potential liability, and other issues to appropriate persons.
Issue communication through message boards, posters, handouts, promotions, and other media to emphasize the goals of the DriveCam program to our Drivers.
Participate in meetings with local upper management and the client as necessary to loop them into the significance and impact of the DriveCam program, providing input and insight on how best to use the DriveCam program.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field preferred.
Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving history.
Three (3) years of experience in the transportation field, specifically in a passenger commercial driving environment.
Supervisory or management experience preferred.
Safety training/teaching experience preferred.
Experience investigating accidents and incidents preferred.
Experience as a bus driver preferred.
Thorough knowledge of laws, ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent presentation skills.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Service Engineer applies electrical and/or mechanical expertise to troubleshoot, test and repair the systems and equipment related to the Amtrak's fleet, that includes electrical and diesel locomotives, coaches and trainsets. Leads and directs system and equipment Amtrak's QMP Technicians and provides troubleshooting training to them on various systems. The Service Engineer will be the main technical support for assigned geographical area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Operates the on-board diagnostic monitoring system of the equipment
* Diagnoses cause of electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems malfunction or failure of the control equipment and its components in the trainsets using knowledge of trainsets, technical manuals, and troubleshooting instruments.
* Troubleshoots malfunctions related to the equipment and proposes solutions or modifications to avoid future failures by working with the Maintenance Engineering Department.
* Analyzes and interprets data collected after the revenue service and provides delays and technical reports at the end of their shift.
* Trains Amtrak's QMP employees in proper troubleshooting techniques maintenance and repair procedures to HSR technicians.
* May ride trains on a regular basis to determine enroute performance of control/mechanical systems and to assess dynamic state of system repairs.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Ability to collaboratively work with others in a teamwork environment.

The salary for the Service Engineer II is $78,600-$101,844, Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee's base salary. Meet and greet customers with tickets. Provide assistance to passengers as requested or required. Monitorsticket counter & Self Service Check-in queue activity. Assist with the ticketing and boarding process, gates, and baggage service. Responsible for providing ground support for inbound and outbound aircraft. Including baggage handling, mail and freight handling, aircraft servicing, driving motorized equipment, and cleaning of aircraft interiors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent.
Computer experience necessary.
Previous Customer Service experience preferred
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have a working telephone number for contact.
Must have reliable telephone and transportation.
PERSONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Treat all information as confidential.
Possess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees and the public.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in verbal and written communication.
Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English.
Must be able to stand/walk in terminal area throughout the scheduled shift.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet passengers, clients and airline personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
Reads and understands letters and numbers in order to accurately pre-screen passenger tickets and determine city destination/gate locations (International & Domestic destinations) from reference documents.
Provide general information to passengers, give directions and flight information.
Actively particpate in the company's safety management system (SMS)
Provide special services (courtesy chairs/bag carts) as required.
Direct large pieces of luggage, pets and other checked articles too large to be dispatched in the baggage handling system to oversize.
Summon the security supervisor and refer difficult or uncooperative passengers to security.
Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.
Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner.
Attend meetings and inservices as required.
Utilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, reports and files as required.
Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials.
Identification badges must always be visible.
Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives.
Utilize company and client equipment, supplies and resources in a conscientious, cost effective manner.
Perform other duties as requested.
