Greystone Golf & Country Club history

In 1992, George Archer won the inaugural playing of the Bruno's Memorial Classic (later renamed the Regions Charity Classic), named by Sports Illustrated as the #1 stop and the best-run tournament on the Champions Tour.

Opened in 1997, the original concept design was actually for Greystone to be a private course.

By 1998, our membership was growing – and so were we.

On September 29, 2000, Greystone Golf & Country Club became the first and only 36-hole equity club in the state of Alabama.

The new Champions Pool opened to the membership on Saturday, May 26, 2001.

The same year, the Greystone Gators Swim Team won the 2008 Divisional Champions.

In September 2011, the 20th Anniversary of the Club is celebrated.

Through the tremendous support of the membership, the project was completed in late 2012 and a walking path was paved surrounded by beautiful landscaping leading to the Founders Clubhouse patio.

The 4,000-square-foot Fitness Center opened in September 2015.

Fred Funk and Bernhard Langer were tied for the lead at 16-under entering the back nine of the final round of the Regions Tradition on Sunday, May 21, 2017.

Stricker couldn't have asked for a better week at the 2019 Regions Tradition, as he claimed his first major championship on Monday, May 13th.

Additionally, the Founders Café opened in March of 2020.
