A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you play a key role in the Clinical Lab. You are responsible for maintaining quality in our laboratory through all stages of testing; preanalytical, analytical, and post-analytical. You would help process specimens and ensure specimens are properly labeled. You would ensure quality specimens were collected, spun down, and maintained at proper storage. You would make sure that the instrumentation is properly cleaned and maintained. You would perform, analyze, and document quality control samples for all testing in the lab. You would ensure that quality results were going out to our providers and patients. This would include any critical results are called to the provider and logged quickly and properly. You would troubleshoot any issues with the equipment and facilitate calls for repairs when the need arises. You would help answer testing questions to clients and provide any help in the testing process for our patients. You would ensure all documentation is completed properly and stored for the appropriate amount of time. At the end of the day, you would make sure that all specimens are properly stored, testing is completed, and instrumentation is properly shut down or put in standby mode. Ultimately you would oversee or perform any task needed to get fast accurate results out to our clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in a science related field
At least one year experience preferred
WORK SCHEDULE
This full-time Medical Laboratory Technician position typically works Wednesday through Friday 9:00-7:30 pm and Saturday 8:00-5:00 pm.

About the Role
The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing moderate and high complexity testing. Under direct supervision, is responsible for the collecting and processing of specimens from patients, documenting results according to established procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collects appropriate specimens from patients as ordered.
