Role Responsibilities:

Plating prepared foods by Mount Mitchell Café & Eatery plating standards
Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
Experience and Education / Requirements:
At least One Year (1 yr.) of previous bar and/or restaurant experience required
High School diploma or GED Preferred
Must be eligible to work in the United States

Training & Advancement
After completing Recruit Training, CSs attend a seven-week A school in Fort Lee, VA, where they learn food preparation, nutrition, and dining service. Placement and advancement opportunities are excellent for qualified applicants. Advanced technical and operational training is available later in their careers.
Education Opportunities
CSs can earn college credits through the American Council on Education for courses taken in this rating. Additionally, the United States Naval Community College (USNCC) offers degree
programs, including a Naval Studies Certificate, that contribute toward an associate degree. These programs support professional development and educational advancement. CSs may also take advantage of voluntary education programs such as the Navy College Program, Tuition Assistance, and the Post-9/11 GI Bill to further their education while serving.
Qualifications & Requirements
To qualify as a CS, individuals should:
Be good team workers and enjoy working with people.
Have good arithmetic and verbal skills, creative ability, and an interest in nutrition and culinary arts.
Be able to do detailed work, follow instructions, and keep accurate records.

THE ROLE
Chetola Resort is seeking a dependable, hard-working Line Cook to join our culinary team and contribute during our evening shift from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Food Preparation & Execution
Prepare menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and chef instructions
Set up and stock workstations with necessary supplies and ingredients
Cook food items with consistency, accuracy, and efficiency
Maintain presentation, temperature, and quality standards during service
Cleanliness & Kitchen Safety
Ensure all workstations, equipment, and utensils are cleaned and sanitized
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures (ServSafe standards)
Monitor and minimize food waste
Assist with receiving, labeling, and rotating food product deliveries
Team Collaboration & Support
Work closely with other cooks, prep staff, dishwashers, and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Communicate any issues or shortages with supervisors promptly
Be flexible and willing to assist with other duties as needed
