$50,000 to $60,000 Plus Bonus

Ensure efficient store operation to ensure customer satisfaction and projected bottom line profit. Manages personnel issues and supervision. Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly and efficient customer service. Maintains company standards by ensuring associates are aware of expectations, are properly trained.

Must have high volume retail / wholesale experience.

Essential Functions:

1. Manage overall store operations.
2. Develops strong business relationships with customers by maintaining open communication with customers, and by quickly and effectively resolving problems
3. Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures including but not limited to safety (HACCP, OSHA) personnel, security, pest control and shrink control.
4. Reviews financial and operational reports and takes necessary actions based on report results.
5. Ensure timely and accurate management of all store operations including safety, sanitation, shelf labels, inventory, merchandising, receiving, stocking, stacking position, order pulling, shipping and in store customer service.
6. Defines the service standards and the operational mission of the company, communicates it to the employees and monitors activities in order to meet company goals.
7. Maximizes all sales opportunities by ensuring high levels of customer service by ensuring proper scheduling of the workforce while meeting budgetary guidelines.
8. Manages selection, annual performance appraisals and professional development of all Management level personnel.
9. Directly supervises and manages, assistant managers & department managers.
10. Coaches managers on employee relation issues such as new hires, transfers, promotions.
11. Maintains communication with the Corporate Offices to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
12. Reviews inventory on a regular basis to ensure that the inventory is correct and the products are in-house
13. Completes and processes necessary reports and paperwork accurately and timely.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

1. Bachelor’s degree (preferred but not required),
2. Minimum 4 years management experience in food service or grocery, supermarket, club warehouse, big box or mass merchandising environment.
3. Background in P&L, Inventory control, merchandising, hiring / training staff, front end, merchandising, cash control, payroll, security / loss prevention mandatory.
4. Strong leadership skills, capable of running a high volume operation.
5. Must have excellent communication, organizational and people management / training skills and be extremely customer service oriented.
6. Commitment to company values and strong customer orientation.

Primary Objective

To stock, rotate, and face product, cut and sort grocery deliveries, build displays as required for daily sales, help in other areas of store as needed, and to ensure a positive shopping experience for customers

Nature and Scope

Primary emphasis in this position is on meeting daily needs in stocking, load cutting, sorting and display building in order to ensure maximum department sales, product availability and provide high level of customer service. The primary challenge is product location and acquiring necessary production speed in cutting, sorting and stocking. This position requires ongoing walking, moderate to heavy lifting, operation of pallet jack, use of box cutter, and cash register. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs. Assignments and work direction are provided by the Grocery Manager or person in charge.

Assist customers

* Greet customers
* Answer customer questions and process customer requests
* Answer grocery telephone calls promptly
* Bring customers to location of item when needed
* Assist with product replacement and price checks
* Assist at checkout and cashier as needed

Stock groceries on shelves, racks and display cases

* Meet or exceed production requirements
* Complete assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner
* Follow case cutting standards
* Ensure correct placement of stock
* Handle product carefully to avoid damage
* Rotate and face product as required
* Adhere to store and department policies and procedures
* Maintain department conditions ; product availability and placement, display to shelf stocking, facing rotation, cleanliness, safety and signing

Cut and sort grocery stock loads as assigned

* Meet or exceed production requirements
* Cut cases properly to avoid product damage
* Properly sort stock by aisle, load onto cart or pallet in stable manner and move to proper aisle for stocking

Build displays as assigned

* Prepare location according to instruction and cuts, stock and face display product
* Restock, rotate and face as needed

Assist in completing produce order

Clean sales floor and back room as necessary

* Pick up/compacts cardboard, stack pallets, clean up spills, store overstock
* Clean shelves and racks as needed

Assist with cashiering when needed

* Scan and process customer orders
* Ensure positive customer relations and satisfaction
* Ensure proper handling of tender and coupons
* Follow front end security procedures
* Utilize proper etiquette for telephone and intercom calls

Follow all store and department policies and procedures

Perform other duties as assigned or delegated

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

FREQUENT: 15% of the work shift or at least ten repetitions per work shift.

OCCASIONAL: Approximately less than 15% of the work shift or fewer than 10 repetitions per work shift.
