Compensation:
$26 - $30 hourly
Responsibilities:
Daily community clean-up
Landscaping
Lawn mowing/lawn care
Trimming and edging grounds
General cleanup of grounds
Light electrical
Light plumbing
Light painting and carpentry
Miscellaneous general maintenance duties as assigned by the community manager
Physical demands include bending, pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying more than 50 lbs
Develop and execute preventative maintenance measures to keep our equipment operating efficiently and prevent any safety risks
Record when any equipment was serviced and repairs were made
Qualifications:
Should be able to demonstrate understanding of heating and air conditioning units, plumbing systems, and electrical systems
Stellar communication skills, attention to detail, and work ethic
Available to be on call and respond to maintenance requests on nights and weekends
High school diploma/GED or equivalent
Must be able to demonstrate advanced understanding of maintenance equipment, techniques and procedures
Knowledge of water meters, sewer systems
Safe use of maintenance equipment, techniques, and procedures
2+ years of similar maintenance experience
Available for occasional emergency repairs. These do not occur often.

Minimum Training and Qualifications
Must be prepared to actively work outdoors in all elements.

Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
Must have the physical ability to work on your feet and be able to walk the Zoo grounds for several hours at a time.

Building Maintenance Worker (Part-Time, Non-Exempt) Rate: $12.00 Pay Grade: PT |
Starting salary based on prior experience and education.
Location: Penitentiary Glen Reservation, Kirtland, OH Position Description: Under the direction of the Park Buildings and Grounds Manager at Penitentiary Glen Reservation, the part-time Building Maintenance Worker performs a wide range of building maintenance functions to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of park facilities. This position is responsible for maintaining public spaces and supporting facility operations through custodial, light construction, and repair work. Employees must be flexible to work up to 28 hours per week, including weekends, weekdays, evenings, and holidays.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain park buildings and amenities, including restrooms and other structures.
Perform custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, washing windows, and restocking supplies.
Assist with building opening/closing and light construction or repair tasks.
Perform general maintenance, including painting, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work.
Support park programs and special events with setup and teardown.
Stock maintenance supplies and ensure equipment is kept in good working condition.
Conduct snow and ice removal on walkways and entry areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in custodial and building maintenance tasks required.
Experience working with outside vendors and contractors preferred.
Position Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable on the agency's liability policy.
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and follow irregular schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Demonstrated basic knowledge of painting, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Ability to safely operate small power tools and maintenance equipment.
Proficient in basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office.
