Essential Job Functions
Performs regular and directed grounds and landscape maintenance by; weeding, thinning and cleaning flower beds and other grounds by hand or utilizing proper tools and equipment; and setting up, adjusting, repairing, and cleaning irrigation systems. Performs campus-wide general maintenance and repairs by installing, removing, repairing and maintaining landscape lighting, signs, gates, posts, fences, and rock walls; and repairing streets, parking lots, tennis courts, as applicable. Removes unsightly trash and debris from public areas by regularly inspecting grounds, drains, manhole covers, etc., for debris; raking, sweeping and bagging leaves, debris, dirt and trash from streets, sidewalks, parking lots, and transporting the trash to designated central collection points on a daily basis. Reduces the likelihood for the spread of diseases and unsightly appearance of trash containers in public areas by emptying, cleaning and disinfecting trash and cigarette receptacles on a regular basis, and removing, repairing and installing trash and cigarette receptacles on an as needed basis. Prepares outdoor locations for use by visitors, vendors, and the public as needed by campus operations Applies chemicals used in grounds keeping (horticulture, turf management, and floriculture) properly and safely by wearing prescribed protective clothing, masks, and/or rubber gloves and boots, following either written or verbal directions for mixing chemical compounds according to specifications, applying the chemicals properly on grounds and landscapes designated for their use, and disposing of residual chemical products as directed or storing and labeling them for future use. Safely operates light vehicles such as golf carts, ATV, and portable power tools and equipment such as saws, grass trimmers, leaf blowers, sprayers, paint machines and other grounds keeping equipment by following operator instructions, and wearing appropriate safety items such as goggles, gloves, or other appropriate protective clothing. Ensures that grounds maintenance equipment and building maintenance equipment are operational by performing routine and preventative maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment and machines within reasonable capabilities. Replaces and disposes of light bulbs in interior building settings using ladders, lifts, or other tools. Performs painting work in the preparation, patching, finishing, and maintaining of building structures, walls, woodwork, furniture, and equipment. Performs custodial services following established procedures and guidelines in buildings, classrooms, offices, lavatories, restrooms, etc. including their furnishings, using manual tools and powered machines. Performs minor maintenance work using hand and power tools by making carpentry repairs such as nailing down loose boards, or replacing worn or rotten floor boards, performing minor plumbing repairs, and replacing defective electrical switches, light bulbs, fuses, and fluorescent ballasts. Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds. Contributes to the overall success of the campus by performing all other related duties as assigned

Physical Requirements
Lifting, pushing and pulling in excess of 50 pounds using proper body mechanics and/or available equipment as physically required for extended periods of time. Be able to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl and reach for extended periods of time Must be capable of work at heights, sometimes above 10 feet. Must be capable of accessing small and confined spaces Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions typical for Florida environment.
Reporting Relationships
Position reports directly to the Facilities Manager
No supervision of employees is required.

In addition to the hourly rate, a sign on bonus of $1,500 minus taxes ($750 after 30 days of employment; $750 after 6 months of employment)

This role is also eligible for a $1,000 bonus minus taxes upon submitting proof of COVID-19 vaccination!

As a Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for keeping the premises of the office, building, amenity areas, and grounds in a clean and orderly condition
Responsibilities
Maintain the appearance of the office, building, and grounds Keep the property in clean and orderly condition Assist with cleaning and painting vacant apartments Perform minor property maintenance tasks to assist Maintenance Perform light landscaping tasks
Qualifications:
Previous experience in grounds keeping preferred Customer service oriented Basic painting skills Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed

We are currently seeking Maintenance Grounds Personnel to join our team!

This position is responsible for the care, maintenance, and repairs of the property as well as the safety and security of the employees and visitors of the location.

The Impact You Will Make

• Performs all landscape maintenance duties such as weed-whacking, lawn mowing, etc.
• Maintains equipment.
• All functions related to funeral services.
• Operates machinery appropriately in a safe manner.
• Installs or assists in installing cemetery vaults.
• Installs headstones or memorials as needed.
• Handles the day-to-day general maintenance duties.
• Handles snow removal (if applicable).
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Grounds Superintendent.
