The Dance/Movement Therapy GroupLeader position provides inpatient and residential group treatment and individual consults to support individuals experiencing mental illness, inclusive of eating disorders.
Hours/Shift: 24hrs/wk, including 1 weekend day a month
Pay: $67,000.00-$110,000.00 depending on experience and license

Responsibilities Include::
Conduct 10-12 multi-modal groups a week with adolescents and adults, and document group attendance and activity in the medical record and individualized treatment plan. Group content focused on dance/movement therapy for individuals with eating disorders.
Participate in daily rounds as time allows, and communicate daily with members of the treatment teams on patient progress and
Conduct the Expressive Therapy consultations as needed. Review content and share pertinent information with the treatment team and program staff.
Develop and update group syllabus for skills-based, process-oriented, and educational groups.
Collaborate on the organization, cleaning, and ordering of materials for the movement room used by the entire building.
Participate in weekend tasks, at a maximum of one weekend day a month, with a flexible weekday off in compensation (“comp day”) to be applied in agreement with your supervisor
Collect outcome and quality data as required for reports; prepare required reports as needed.
Work with clinical teams to ensure clients have access to and are participating in pro-social activities.
Attend required supervision meetings, staff meetings.
Teach group skills and therapeutic content to students, interns, and program staff as needed.
Assist the treatment team in coordinating referrals for internal and external services.
Qualifications::
Education:
Master's Degree, in expressive arts therapy (preferred, or in training)
Experience of certification in expressive art therapies preferred
Experience:
Experience providing groups in a mental health setting, preferably in an eating disorder or inpatient psychiatric setting
Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a mental health setting
Licensure/Certification:
Preferred to have LCSW, LMHC, R-DMT (registered dave movement therapist), or in training.
CPR certification, required
Knowledge:
Must possess knowledge of psychiatric group process, therapeutic relationships processes, age-specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors.
Demonstrated capacity to create group ideas and therapeutic group interventions
Knowledge of behavioral health, including group treatment modalities
Crisis management skills and group intervention skills with clients
Strong clinical and patient counseling skills
Ability to work as a member of a team

Due to the seasonal nature of the role, this position is not benefits eligible.
Hourly rates vary based on program location which ranges from $15.00 to $23.00 per hour plus tips. CTP Certificate for GroupLeaders required or extensive professional tourism experience.
We are seeking GroupLeaders who live in the program destination/region.
In this role, you will...
Provide curriculum to Road Scholar program staff in advance for approval
Deliver educational content to Participants in a classroom setting and/or out in the field on Instructor-led guided walks and hikes
Supply materials supporting the scholastic content, i.e., handouts, visual aids, presentations, etc.
Allow space for a question and answer session
Adhere to Road Scholar's commitment to offering high quality educational programming
We're seeking...
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience strongly preferred
CTP Certificate for GroupLeaders required or equivalent professional tourism experience
1+ years groupleadership experience in an educational and/or travel program environment; prior Elderhostel/Road Scholar experience preferred as well as experience working with individuals 55+ and handling different levels of physical ability preferred
Preferably lives in the program destination/region or has an intimate knowledge of the destinations
Strong leadership skills to build group cohesion
Sets clear expectations to participants
Excellent organizational and problem-solving ability
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication skills and excellent command of English
Ability to work with a team and collaborate and share best practices

Have access to reliable cell phone, capable of texting and/or emails. Road Scholar cannot require GroupLeaders to have a Smart Phone, or similar, but it is our expectation that your cell phone has these capabilities

The Community Group (TCG) operates eight Community Kids Place (CKP) Out-of-School Time (OST) programs in Lawrence and Methuen, serving over 400 students in partnership with local school districts. CKP provides high-quality enrichment opportunities during the school year and summer, including field trips, project-based learning, collaboration with community partners, and extended time with school-day teachers. Aligned with the DESE 21st Century Community Learning Centers model, the program focuses on academic and social-emotional growth. All CKP sites are licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, ensuring a safe, high-quality learning environment.
Role Summary
As an Out-of-School Time (OST) GroupLeader Floater at Community Kids Place (CKP), you'll gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic, supportive environment. This part-time position is ideal for individuals interested in building their skills in classroom management, youth development, or mentorship. The ideal candidate is passionate about TCG's mission and committed to serving as a positive role model and leader for young students.
Schedule: Part-time hours during the school-year 2:00pm-6:00pm, and full-time during school and summer vacations between 7:30am-5:30pm.
Responsibilities (included but not limited to):
* Serve as a floater, providing coverage at program sites to fill temporary vacancies (due to leaves, vacations, or open positions);
* Travel between CKP sites in Lawrence and Methuen as needed to provide coverage and program support.
* Provide a positive, safe, fun, and memorable experience for children and families in TCG's after-school and summer programs;
* Prioritize the care, safety, and well-being of children within the group;
* Create a physically and emotionally secure and enjoyable environment for children to thrive;
* Plan and implement academic enrichment lessons in 10-week project cycles;
* Encourage active participation in all activities, helping children realize their full potential
* Serve as a positive role model and mentor to enrolled children;
* Assist in maintaining and updating children's health, safety, and emergency records;
* Maintain a flexible attitude and support Site Coordinator/Program Managers/ Director in immediate tasks.
* Actively participate in staff meetings, parent meetings, workshops, and ongoing training;
* Complete all required certifications;
* Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Additional details:
* This position provides coverage for absences due to illness, vacations, or other temporary needs.
* Floaters may be assigned to a single site for up to six months.
* When coverage is not required, this role provides general support at program sites.
