Safe Passage's psychologist will update diagnosis, treatment plans, and future placement options. Youth will leave Safe Passage in the next 30 days after their assessment is completed going on to one of three places: back home with social services in place, to a foster care or group home, or to a residential facility to work on a youth's recommendations.

Our Camp Butternut Springs overnight camp is a place where energetic and passionate staff come together to provide a safe and positive learning environment for campers ages 5-17.
As a Trip Leader you will be critical to the success of the summer as part of the leadership team and the first-line resource for problem solving for campers and counselors on off-site trips. In this role you will supervise and guide campers and counselors through progressive learning experiences specifically on field trips and adventure-based activities and live on site in a camper unit.
Work Commitment:
Dates: June 5- August 2
Includes staff training
Camp is closed June 19 and July 4-6; these days are unpaid
Weekly Schedule: 11:00 a.m. Sunday-7:00 p.m. Friday
Daily 2-hour break Monday-Thursday
Staff are required to work Saturday, August 1; Saturday work opportunities are also available on July 11 and July 25

Qualifications:

Develop, supervise, and deliver facilitation of on-site and off-site programs involving outdoor skills and adventure-based activities with campers and staff through the use of girl planning and Girl Scout program guidelines.
Oversee campers and staff during group activities, meals, and transitions to and from scheduled events
Manage logistics of groups leaving camp, including food requisitions, specialized trip first aid kits, and assisting with communication with vendors.
Transport campers to off-site trip locations as needed through safe use of 12- and 15-passenger vans.
Ensure that camp staff and campers know and follow safety and educational procedures
Assist with management and care of program supplies and spaces, including specialty equipment
Assist in the care of camp equipment and in maintaining a clean camp environment
Maintain open and efficient communication with camp director, health supervisor, and other staff as needed involving camper's illness and injury
Maintain responsibility for the overall well-being of campers throughout their camp experience

Job Responsibilities

The Group Living Lead is responsible for overall operations at the assigned department which includes performing duties in the areas of administration, operations, and programming. In addition, they must carry out various administrative duties for the home. The Group Living Lead works as a team member with Direct Support Professionals to create a home environment that facilitates individual learning and independence while enhancing each individual's dignity.
Requirements
Administrative Duties
Coordinates the initial and ongoing training of Direct Support Professionals.
Monitors the performance of direct reports and assures prompt disciplinary action, re-training, recognition, etc. as appropriate.
Provides ongoing support and communication to staff.
Conducts regular staff meetings.
Assures the completion of performance evaluations, both introductory and annual.
Assists in scheduling staff to assure proper coverage on all shifts within the approved staffing limits.
Approves time sheets and paid leave for direct reports.
Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the home.
Monitors the maintenance needs of the home and vehicle if applicable and completes Sys-aids as necessary.
Assures completion of emergency evacuation drills to meet ISDH guidelines
Administers the home's petty cash funds.
Coordinates purchasing of supplies and groceries for the home and manages credit card use, within established budgetary constraints for the department.
Monitors the census of the home.
Assures the documentation of laundry hours for the home.
Assures compliance with all licensing, regulatory and accreditation standards.
Participates as a member of each individual support team and attends Annual and Semi-Annual meetings.

Direct Support Duties
Provides a positive environment for individuals served that allows for learning and enjoyment of activities.

Provides day coverage when clients are home sick from day program.

Encourages individuals to be as independent as possible in their daily routine and takes advantage of every opportunity to teach.

Teaches individuals in the areas of house cleaning, household maintenance, grocery shopping, and nutritious meal preparation and clean up, personal grooming and bathing, toileting, dressing, etc.
Implements goals and objectives as identified in the Individual Support Plan and implements Behavior Support Plans.
Actively listens to individuals and encourages them to express their personal preferences
Identifies the personal interests of individuals.
Assists with positioning, transferring and personal care of individuals.
Transports individuals to community outings and activities such as church, dances, etc.
Provides for the dignity of individuals by assuring personal cleanliness including monitoring the condition of personal possessions, clothing and adaptive equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma
Some college education preferred
Experience
Two years of general supervisory experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
CPR, First Aid and Medication Administration Certification required (or the ability to obtain certification).
