More About the Role: The Digital Modernization Group at Leidos has an opening for the Navy's Service Management, Integration and Transport (SMIT) Piers Connectivity Services program as a Site Operations Leader. The SMIT contract will provide secure end-to-end Information Technology (IT) services to more than 400,000 hardware devices and 600,000+ users at over 1,600 Continental United States (CONUS) sites and over 82 OCONUS site across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East; constituting one of the largest combined networks in the world.
Under the Piers Connectivity Services portion of the contract, the Leidos team will provide pier side connect/disconnect service, network administration, and fiber optic cable repair supporting US Navy vessels arriving and departing from piers throughout the CONUS Theatre.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the site, to include providing direction to site resources, interacting with customer leadership, and being the primary interface between the site and the Piers Connectivity Management group. The candidate will manage both internal and sub-contractor team members, coordinate staffing, scheduling, training, and quality assurance for Program contract personnel. Undertake status review meetings among project team members and clients. Coach team members to accomplish project goals, to meet established schedules, and resolve technical or operational issues. Analyze and measure appropriate metrics for key project criteria, to include producing reports to quantify contract deliverables, with a focus on IT services and knowledge of the Navy Networks and piers connectivity requirements. The Site Operations Leader will provide oversight of the connectivity of Naval vessels at the site in support of the Piers Connectivity Services Program and the SMIT contract. The Site Operations Leader is responsible for tracking the connect/disconnect services provided to all vessels arriving and departing at the pier location serviced by the SMIT contract within the contractual service level target timelines. The Site Operations Leader will provide the Government and Piers Service Delivery Manager accurate and timely status regarding task execution and performance and will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of all deliverables. The Site Operations Leader will track and conduct network operations and engineering activities; connect/disconnect actions at the piers, maintenance; repair and replacement of cables; and the shipment and status of replacement parts and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
•Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs for up to a 100 feet at a time; must be able to lift 25 lbs vertically using ladders.
•Must be able to work in confined spaces, such as raised floors or communications closets; must be able to work in noisy environments, such as data centers and operations centers; must be able to stand or sit for 8 hours at a time.
•Must be able to utilize basic hand tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches while rack mounting active and passive equipment using small screws and brackets.
•Must have normal color vision for identifying wire and cable colors, and correctable vision to 20/20 or better for reading schematics, test equipment, and display screens. Must have depth perception to judge distances and work safely in elevated (ladders) or confined spaces.
•Must be able to operate and interpret results from digital test equipment such as Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs) and Optical Loss Test Sets (OLTS).
•Must be able to drive corporate vehicle to different locations to work on projects and troubleshoot; valid state license required.
What You'll Get to Do:
•Drive business and reporting rhythms, managing and directing staff to perform all tasks within scope and meet required service targets for connect/disconnect service to vessels arriving or departing from piers in your assigned location.
•Responsible for reporting progress against the baseline, in addition to employing a risk register to identify risks, analyze identified risks, and the develop associated mitigations.
•Responsible for the management program scope in order to meet schedule requirements; responsible for defining resource needs, directing personnel to perform tasks, and reporting progress to Program Management.
•Oversees IT knowledge and equipment asset transfer, ensuring that personnel are prepared to assume duties in order to meet defined schedule and scope requirements.
•Develop and manage a collaborative work environment, working with personnel to ensure that comprehensive knowledge transfer activities associated with job functions and daily tasks are successfully conducted.
•Identify and document skill enhancements/training needed based upon observation of actual performance versus documented site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
•Manage “as-is” information, inclusive of technical baseline documentation, SOPs, local procedures for security/onboarding, workload data (tickets), historical Service Level Requirement (SLR) performance and tools used to capture performance metrics.
•Manages staff to conduct asset inventories, directing asset reconciliations, inventories, and configurations across all sites.
•Manage staffing schedules, task assignments, and workload prioritization to ensure consistent operational coverage and efficiency.
•Lead all local hiring, staffing, and onboarding efforts in coordination with program hiring practices and security clearance requirements.
•Handle personnel management functions including conflict resolution, performance oversight, and team cohesion.
•Manages and tracks shipment of replacement parts, repair equipment, test equipment, tools, and consumables.
•Establish and maintain transparent and respectful working relationships with customer and Program Management leadership, and subordinates.
•Track and coordinate response to service outages, disruptions, and escalations; facilitate real-time communication and resolution efforts with technical teams and stakeholders.
•Supervise the day-to-day performance and task execution of network engineers, ISP/OSP technicians, and wireless technicians at the site.
•Serve as a mentor to junior-level leadership personnel, providing them with opportunities to enhance project management skills.
•Will be responsible for all Fiber Repairs relating to the Piers Connectivity Services Program at the designated location.
•Support quality assurance and advanced troubleshooting efforts across fiber optic and connectivity systems, applying NAVSEA Standard 2042 knowledge where applicable.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
•HS diploma with 5+ years of prior relevant experience.
•US Citizen and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
•Valid DoD 8570 IAT Level II: Security+ or higher Certification - If certification such as CCNA, CCST or NAVSEA Shipboard Fiber Certification requirement for Security+ can be waivered for 6 months.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
The Lead Life Skills Specialist is responsible for assisting in the coordination of residential services and providing professional treatment and care to participants in the residential programs. The position provides quality youth care and close intensive supervision of youths in a residential treatment setting. In addition, this position is responsible for providing a range of residential counseling and skills training services to youths and their families, tracking and reporting on youth's treatment progress and providing peer leadership. Serves as the primary staff responsible for a shift in addition to their regular Life Skills Specialist duties. Provides clear and meaningful feedback to other members of the CBR staff. Shares observations and concerns regarding individual participants with staff.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Masters' Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Requires knowledge of an advanced type.
EXPERIENCE
Over two years, up to and including four years.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Knowledge of interpersonal, behavioral and emotional difficulties associated with high-risk adolescents.
Temperament to work with and care for youth with emotional/behavioral problems.

HOW THE VDI TEAM LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
As a VDI Team Lead, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the EPICS program supporting mission partners in the Pacific Region (USARPAC, PACAF, USFJ). You will play a crucial role in providing technical leadership and management for all virtualized environments, encompassing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), server virtualization, and potentially other virtualized services as required. You will ensure secure, reliable, and optimized virtualized solutions supporting mission-critical operations. A significant portion of this role will focus on the detailed management of VDI systems.
Provide technical leadership for the design, implementation, operation, and optimization of virtualized environments spanning multiple security domains and network enclaves.
Lead and oversee a team of engineers, translating mission requirements into technical designs and directing implementation activities.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for VDI platform technologies, including platforms such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, and/or Azure Virtual Desktop.
Lead VDI desktop image creation, configuration, lifecycle management, and optimization, including OS hardening, application layering, patching, and version control.
Serve as the SME for server virtualization technologies, including VMware ESXi and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
Design, integrate, and maintain virtualization solutions in coordination with data center networking and security architectures, ensuring alignment with DoD security requirements.
Support and advise DoD mission partners by addressing evolving operational needs across multiple environments and classifications.
Integrate VDI solutions with supporting enterprise services, including identity, access control, and cross-domain access solutions, where applicable.
Monitor VDI and virtualization performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning and optimization strategies to ensure a high-quality end-user experience.
Utilize scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or Bash) to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and reliability.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your initiative and drive for innovation to GDIT. The VDI Team Lead must have:
Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience, including 4-6 years of hands-on experience in VDI administration and management. Demonstrated experience managing both:
VDI platform technologies (e.g., brokering, session management, infrastructure services), and
VDI desktop image engineering and lifecycle management
Technical skills:
Expertise in at least one major VDI platform (e.g., VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Azure Virtual Desktop)
Strong understanding of virtualization technologies, including hypervisors such as VMware ESXi or Hyper-V
Strong understanding of networking and virtual networking technologies, including concepts such as VLANs, routing, firewall integration, and virtual switching (e.g. vSphere Distributed Switch, VMware, NSX, or equivalent)
Proficiency in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS), enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS), and security controls relevant to virtualized environments

Assist with scheduling, coverage, and communication of fulfillment priorities, partnering with leadership and MOD as needed.
Powered Equipment Certification: Counterbalance Forklift, Order Picker, and Narrow Aisle Reach Truck (Required; must be obtained if not already certified).
May be assigned other duties to support business needs.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
6 Months of Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
1 Year of Retail experience providing customer service, including identifying and resolving customer issues, greeting customers, answering phones, building relationships with customers, and thanking customers for their business

More About the Role: The Digital Modernization Group at Leidos has an opening for the Navy's Service Management, Integration and Transport (SMIT) Piers Connectivity Services program as a Site Operations Leader. The SMIT contract will provide secure end-to-end Information Technology (IT) services to more than 400,000 hardware devices and 600,000+ users at over 1,600 Continental United States (CONUS) sites and over 82 OCONUS site across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East; constituting one of the largest combined networks in the world.
Under the Piers Connectivity Services portion of the contract, the Leidos team will provide pier side connect/disconnect service, network administration, and fiber optic cable repair supporting US Navy vessels arriving and departing from piers throughout the CONUS Theatre.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the site, to include providing direction to site resources, interacting with customer leadership, and being the primary interface between the site and the Piers Connectivity Management group. The candidate will manage both internal and sub-contractor team members, coordinate staffing, scheduling, training, and quality assurance for Program contract personnel. Undertake status review meetings among project team members and clients. Coach team members to accomplish project goals, to meet established schedules, and resolve technical or operational issues. Analyze and measure appropriate metrics for key project criteria, to include producing reports to quantify contract deliverables, with a focus on IT services and knowledge of the Navy Networks and piers connectivity requirements. The Site Operations Leader will provide oversight of the connectivity of Naval vessels at the site in support of the Piers Connectivity Services Program and the SMIT contract. The Site Operations Leader is responsible for tracking the connect/disconnect services provided to all vessels arriving and departing at the pier location serviced by the SMIT contract within the contractual service level target timelines. The Site Operations Leader will provide the Government and Piers Service Delivery Manager accurate and timely status regarding task execution and performance and will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of all deliverables. The Site Operations Leader will track and conduct network operations and engineering activities; connect/disconnect actions at the piers, maintenance; repair and replacement of cables; and the shipment and status of replacement parts and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs for up to a 100 feet at a time; must be able to lift 25 lbs vertically using ladders.
* Must be able to work in confined spaces, such as raised floors or communications closets; must be able to work in noisy environments, such as data centers and operations centers; must be able to stand or sit for 8 hours at a time.
* Must be able to utilize basic hand tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches while rack mounting active and passive equipment using small screws and brackets.
* Must have normal color vision for identifying wire and cable colors, and correctable vision to 20/20 or better for reading schematics, test equipment, and display screens. Must have depth perception to judge distances and work safely in elevated (ladders) or confined spaces.
* Must be able to operate and interpret results from digital test equipment such as Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs) and Optical Loss Test Sets (OLTS).
* Must be able to drive corporate vehicle to different locations to work on projects and troubleshoot; valid state license required.

* Identify and document skill enhancements/training needed based upon observation of actual performance versus documented site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Manage "as-is" information, inclusive of technical baseline documentation, SOPs, local procedures for security/onboarding, workload data (tickets), historical Service Level Requirement (SLR) performance and tools used to capture performance metrics.
* Manages staff to conduct asset inventories, directing asset reconciliations, inventories, and configurations across all sites.
* Manage staffing schedules, task assignments, and workload prioritization to ensure consistent operational coverage and efficiency.
* Lead all local hiring, staffing, and onboarding efforts in coordination with program hiring practices and security clearance requirements.
* Handle personnel management functions including conflict resolution, performance oversight, and team cohesion.
* Manages and tracks shipment of replacement parts, repair equipment, test equipment, tools, and consumables.
* Establish and maintain transparent and respectful working relationships with customer and Program Management leadership, and subordinates.
* Track and coordinate response to service outages, disruptions, and escalations; facilitate real-time communication and resolution efforts with technical teams and stakeholders.
* Supervise the day-to-day performance and task execution of network engineers, ISP/OSP technicians, and wireless technicians at the site.
* Serve as a mentor to junior-level leadership personnel, providing them with opportunities to enhance project management skills.
* Will be responsible for all Fiber Repairs relating to the Piers Connectivity Services Program at the designated location.
* Support quality assurance and advanced troubleshooting efforts across fiber optic and connectivity systems, applying NAVSEA Standard 2042 knowledge where applicable.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
* HS diploma with 5+ years of prior relevant experience.
* US Citizen and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
* Valid DoD 8570 IAT Level II: Security+ or higher Certification - If certification such as CCNA, CCST or NAVSEA Shipboard Fiber Certification requirement for Security+ can be waivered for 6 months.
* Must demonstrate expertise in IT Enterprise Operations.
