Job purpose
The Peer Recovery Coach will provide peer recovery support services to individuals receiving services through Growth Works Inc. The Coach will link clients to treatment and other recovery resources as appropriate. The Coach will provide ongoing care and support from a recovery-oriented perspective, to help clients improve the likelihood of sustained personal recovery. You will collaborate with community partners and referring organizations including but not limited to hospitals, courts, law enforcement agencies, and treatment providers, to support clients in initiating and sustaining personal recovery. You will also engage in community outreach and education to collaborating agencies/organizations, community organizations, and in public forums, as needed. New hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
Duties and responsibilities
Provide direct services to individuals to introduce recovery concepts, offer encouragement, share personal experiences, strengths that build hope and recovery capital, and provide information and linkages, while removing barriers, to treatment and other activities that promote recovery.
Respond to emergent and non-emergent requests for services from hospital, court, law enforcement, and other community partners
Share community and treatment recovery resources, including but not limited to twelve-step and other mutual aid programs, Detox Services, Residential and Outpatient SUD Treatment, healthcare, housing, education, and employment resources and support.
Documents direct services as well as collateral contacts within the Electronic Medical Record and funder databases, in addition to keeping accurate and up to date documentation of client services as required by GW and funders.
Meet regularly with individual clients to develop client-led Recovery Plans, build and sustain supportive relationships, and assist clients in negotiating barriers to sustaining personal recovery
Facilitate Peer Recovery based groups, participate in ongoing training, education and other items as required.
Participate when necessary in Treatment Court activities to advocate for Recovery and support court clients
Provide education about SUD, addiction, and recovery in public forums, to professional collaborators, and to other audiences
Abide by HIPPA, Federal Confidentiality Laws, Licensing Regulations, and any additional regulations set forth by Growth Works / partnering agency procedures.
Establish and maintain liaison relationships with appropriate agencies including local police and fire departments, hospitals and courts.
Supports the mission of Growth Works Inc. with integrity and act as an ambassador for the agency and the recovery community.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Demonstrates knowledge of Recovery Oriented Systems of Care, principles of trauma informed care, commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, 12-step recovery principles, in all professional relationships.
Maintain an average case load of 20 clients.
Work week consists of minimally 15-20 hours/ week in addition to 3-4/ 8 hour on call shifts/week.
Attend weekly staff meetings.
Be flexible and adaptable to potential new partnership opportunities and responsibilities in various locations in Wayne, Oakland and Washtenaw Counties.
Qualifications
Completion of a high school diploma or a GED.
Be eligible for or have Certified Peer Recovery Coach Certification (CPRC) with MDHHS (Michigan Department Health and Human Services) and/or CCAR.
Must have maintained at least 24 (twenty-four) months of continuous sobriety and recovery from a substance use disorder (SUD)
Ability to pass successfully agency required background checks, drug tests and other employment related screenings.
Possession of a valid driver's license and a vehicle due to the essential functions of the role.
Ability to adjust hours of work and travel based on the community needs, including evenings and weekends, where flexibility to drive self to locations on short notice to meet clients and support their needs is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to complete manual tasks involving dexterity to enter and retrieve data using computer systems, systems applications, and other office equipment.

The Family Preservation Assistant is responsible for assuming responsibilities common to all administrative and direct service positions as described in the Agency Manual. The incumbent to this position will establish and maintain positive/productive relationships with MDHHS, caregivers, the service providers and staff. Develop and maintain spreadsheets relating to medicals, dentals, days of care and documentation for RDMA.
Monitor and log all medical, dental, and legal documents as required to comply with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and legal standards.

Assist with opening and closing out files, ongoing filing, uploading documents in the MiSACWIS system and sending out letters to caregivers and community partners to ensure our compliance.
Conduct follow-up phone calls to dentist offices, medical offices, caregivers regarding appointments or documentation that is required.
Assist the casework staff in provision of services to clients including assistance in diminishing barriers to obtaining necessary paperwork.
Support parenting time visits by watching visits, documenting the visits in MiSACWIS and transporting children, as needed.
Attend staff meetings, general staff meetings and conferences for professional development.
Participate in outreach and recruitment efforts.

Recovery Action Network of Michigan (RANMI) is a dedicated recovery community organization committed to supporting individuals on their journey to recovery from substance use. Our mission is to empower individuals and families affected by addiction by providing a safe and supportive community where they can find hope, inspiration, resources and achieve long-term recovery.
RANMI is seeking a compassionate and reliable Part Time Peer Recovery Coach to assist with facilitating support groups and recovery activities. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping others and is available to work on an as-needed basis to support our recovery programs.
Duties and responsibilities for Peer Recovery Coach:
Facilitate peer support groups via zoom and in-person in various locations throughout Western Wayne County.
Provide peer support services to individuals in various stages of recovery, offering guidance, encouragement, and resources.
Facilitate mutual aid support groups that encompass multiple pathways to recovery, including but not limited to MAT support, SMART recovery, twelve-step (AA/NA), and All-Recovery.
Assist in planning and leading recovery focused activities and events.
Be knowledgeable of harm reduction strategies and offer support and resources to individuals who use drugs.
Assist individuals in developing and achieving their recovery goals, share lived experiences, expand recovery capital, and reduce barriers to long-term recovery.
Maintain accurate records of coaching sessions and client progress.
Track peer support group and recovery activity attendance.
Stay informed about local resources and services available to individuals in recovery and those seeking substance use support.
Supports the mission of RANMI with integrity and acts as an ambassador for the agency and the recovery community.
Participate in ongoing training, education, and other items as required.
Abide by HIPAA, Federal Confidentiality Laws, Licensing Regulations, and any additional regulations set forth by RANMI/partnering agency procedures.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Demonstrates knowledge of Recovery Oriented Systems of Care, principles of trauma informed care, commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and multiple pathways of recovery in all professional relationships.
Qualifications for Peer Recovery Coach:
Completion of a high school diploma or a GED.
Have Certified Peer Recovery Coach Certification (CPRC) with Michigan Department Health and Human Services (MDHHS) or equivalent, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
Be in recovery from a substance use disorder (SUD) for at least 24 (twenty-four) months.
Ability to successfully pass agency required background checks, drug tests and other employment related screenings.
Possession of a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle due to the essential functions of the role.
Ability to adjust hours of work and travel based on the community needs, including evenings and weekends, where flexibility to drive self to locations on short notice to meet clients and support their needs is required.
Physical Requirements for Peer Recovery Coach:
Must be able to complete manual tasks involving dexterity to enter and retrieve data using computer systems, systems applications, and other office equipment.
Ability to lift and transport materials/supplies up to 25 lbs. for administrative tasks, community outreach events and recovery activities.
