For more information on GTT, please visit ************ Role Summary: The Service Engineer is a hybrid position with the primary role to assist in the smooth operation of GTT's Global Network under the supervision of the Network Operations Manager. This is a large-scale network spanning the globe and is built on a multi-platform environment. The role is varied and demands a totally flexible approach to all tasks associated with this position. Job Scope/Supervision: The successful candidate should be comfortable working within an expanded and very fast-paced team environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Assisting in customer test & turn-up (DWDM/ADM/Ethernet) Customer circuit troubleshooting with the aid of industry-standard test equipment. Liaising with all GTT NOC Engineers and Network Operations departments in other countries Report writing and creating/maintaining inventories. Assisting in the management of a Planned Preventative Maintenance program and schedules Network installations / troubleshooting. Non-routine duties will be allocated as deemed necessary. Training other members of staff when applicable. Generate site documentation such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and ordering supplies and equipment. Periodically inspect the equipment, locate, and correct problems before breakdowns occur. Ability to replace items such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, lamps, electrical & electronic components, and cable. When working with more complex items of plant, they may work with engineers, engineering technicians, or industrial machinery installation, repair, and maintenance workers. Supervise planned works, carrying out postmortems upon completion to assess the efficiency / financial worth and lessons learned from said works. Aim to constantly reduce operational running costs. Review / authorize and manage MOPS (method of procedures) RA's (Risk Assessments) and back out plans prior to on-site works taking place assessing all potential risks and consequences relating to specific works. Provide hands-on and technical assistance during an emergency. Required Experience/Qualifications: Experience in optical networks and technical facilities required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operational environment in a medium to large-scale carrier / ISP would be a definite advantage. Experience in a role with hands-on complex technical problem solving as a daily occurrence. Degree in Engineering related field - preferably Telecoms / Datacomms modules covered. Experience with hands-on installs of power and telecoms equipment Strong Fiber management principles Experience with test equipment - OSA / OTDR / BERT / RFC 2544 test sets Experience with troubleshooting BGP, MPLS, VPLS, DSL, PPP, IP Routing and Switching technologies. A solid understanding of SONET/SDH principles is required. Ethernet & TCP/IP & OSI experience is a distinct advantage. Optical network installation and troubleshooting skills will be an advantage. Reporting to Director of Global Labs, the Principal Eng serves as the central point of Technical Leadership driving integration of Lab Network and Infrastructure Design. Candidate will work closely with Lab Engineers / Technicians as well as internal Development and Test functions to ensure seamless collaboration, optimal resource utilization, and translating user requirements in alignment with established strategic priorities and goals. The candidate should possess a strong background in data center architecture and network engineering with proven leadership and project management capabilities. Responsibilities: • Serve as the Primary Technical Lead and coordinator for Global Labs infrastructure activities and initiatives. • Align lab network and design engineering efforts with outlined goals and technical roadmaps. • Define and maintain the Global Labs infrastructure architecture, including network topology, equipment layout, and power / cooling strategies. • Lead cross-functional planning sessions with Lab Management, System Administrators, Development and Test Engineers, and Technicians. • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., BICSI, RCDD) and internal policies. • Monitor and guide the execution of lab network and design projects. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across lab operations. • Provide architectural guidance on EVPN, VXLAN, PON, and other advanced networking technologies. • Support troubleshooting and escalation for complex infrastructure issues. • Evaluate and recommend tools for monitoring, automation, and asset management (e.g., Netbox, SolarWinds, ServiceNow). • Global Collaboration & Communication • Facilitate communication across global teams and time zones. • Represent lab architecture in technical forums. • Coordinate and participate in lab visits, audits, and in-person meetings as needed. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field. • 10+ years of experience in Telecommunication product validation, tools and lab infrastructure architecture. • 5+ years of experience at the Architect level driving innovation into globally distributed teams and highly complex Product Validation environments • In-depth exposure to test and validation of Networking products, including test strategy development, testbed design and management, and test cycles. • Strong knowledge of networking protocols (L2/L3, EVPN, DHCP, NAT, DNS). • Understand the overall EVPN spine leaf architecture and data center / enterprise network functionalities. • Test and Automation skills in core scripting disciplines (bash, perl, python etc) • Networking layers 1-7 with Voice, Video and High-volume data preferred. • Knowledge of power standards and limitations in AC and DC distribution. • Experience with Calix products or similar ONT/OLT architectures. • Experience with Cisco and Juniper network equipment. • Experience with Telecommunication Test Traffic Generation tools • Familiarity with DCIM tools, CMDBs, and asset tracking platforms. • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under deadlines. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced technical sales professional to be on the front line with a high growth company, owning the technical aspects of selling. This role will report to the regional Solutions Engineering leader and be responsible for supporting a team of account executives. What you will do: Strategic Leadership: Act as the primary technical lead on high-profile and complex sales opportunities, guiding customers, partners and internal teams through advanced solutions. Technical Oversight: Lead advanced technical demonstrations and presentations, proof-of-concept engagements, and prototype developments tailored to customer needs. Team Participation: Recommend improvements to Solution Engineer onboarding process and engagement methodologies as we begin a rapid expansion of the team. Training Programs: Design and deliver advanced technical training for direct sales teams, channel partners, and new team members. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Management, Product Marketing, and R&D teams to provide insights that shape product roadmaps, competitive intelligence, and go-to-market strategies. Thought Leadership: Represent Matterport at industry events, webinars, and conferences, showcasing technical expertise and thought leadership. Data-Driven Insights: Analyze field data and performance metrics to refine processes and enhance customer experiences. Work hands-on with the Matterport solution from end to end: from 3D capture through to backend outputs and integrations. Lead security-related discussions for Matterport SE team Build and deliver technical sales training programs for both direct and channel partner sales teams. Leadership Continuity: Take ownership of team leadership responsibilities during the manager's absence, ensuring seamless operations and decision-making. With field exposure, develop valuable cross-functional feedback for product management, product marketing, and competitive intelligence. Who you are: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college/university. A track record of commitment to prior employers. 5+ years of experience as a solutions engineer supporting B2B SaaS pre-sales activities. Exceptional Communicator & Collaborator: Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills, capable of addressing diverse audiences from technical experts to executive stakeholders. Experience with web API/SDK and integration to prototype proof of concepts and demonstrations. Experience with related and underlying technologies such as JavaScript and GraphQL. Understanding of 3D (models, point clouds, images) related data and workflows prospective clients would use with the Matterport solution. Familiarity with Cloud technologies, cloud security and common authentication technology such as SAML and OAuth. Knowledge of AWS preferred. Basic understanding of how Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence algorithms work and improve over time. Willing and able to travel up to 50%, domestic or international, based on business need. Preferred Qualifications: Reality Capture Specialist: Extensive understanding of the reality capture landscape, including emerging technologies and competitive solutions. Matterport Platform Expertise: knowledge of the Matterport Platform and its integrations, enabling tailored solutions and maximum value delivery. Innovative Thinker: knowledge of 3D modeling and visualization tools such as Autodesk, SketchUp, Procore, Unity, Unreal Engine, and similar platforms. Partner Solutions Expertise: knowledge of Matterport Partner Solution Offerings, enabling effective collaboration and solution customization. Experience with image capture and 3D scanning technologies. Knowledge of Autodesk, SketchUp, Procore, PlanGrid, Unity, Unreal Engine and similar 3D modelling and visualization solutions.
