Benefits and Compensation Specialist
Guarantee Electrical 3.8
Guarantee Electrical job in Saint Louis, MO
JOIN OUR TEAM Guarantee Electrical is seeking a Benefits and Compensation Specialist who understands that total rewards is about more than numbers on a spreadsheet-it's about taking care of the people who build our success. You'll ensure our benefits truly serve our Partners' needs, transform complex programs into clear understanding, and build wellness initiatives that reflect who we are as an organization. If you believe that employee ownership changes everything about how we think about compensation, and you're passionate about creating programs that make a real difference in people's lives, we want to meet you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Design Benefits That Actually Benefit You won't just administer benefits-you'll ensure they match the real needs of our Partners. This means analyzing utilization data, conducting Partner listening sessions, and understanding the difference between what people say they want and what they actually need. From healthcare to retirement, from parental leave to pet insurance, you'll build a benefits portfolio that reflects the diversity of our workforce and the reality of their lives.
Transform Complexity into Clarity Benefits shouldn't require a PhD to understand. You'll be our chief translator, turning insurance jargon into plain English and helping Partners understand the true value of their total rewards. You'll create communication campaigns, host education sessions, and develop tools that help Partners make informed decisions about their benefits. When a Partner's spouse asks "what does this mean for our family?"-you'll ensure they have a clear answer.
Build a Culture of Wellness You'll develop wellness initiatives that go beyond step challenges and fruit bowls. This means understanding what wellness looks like for office professionals versus field electricians, for new parents versus empty nesters. You'll create programs that address physical health, mental wellbeing, and financial wellness-recognizing that true wellness isn't one-size-fits-all. Your initiatives will reflect the Guarantee Way, focusing on sustainable habits, not quick fixes.
Champion the ESOP Advantage As an employee-owned company, our compensation philosophy is different-and you'll help Partners understand why that matters. You'll educate Partners on how ESOP ownership impacts their long-term wealth building, develop tools that show the real value of ownership, and ensure our compensation strategies align with our ownership culture. You'll help Partners think like owners, not just employees.
Navigate Compliance with Confidence You'll ensure we meet all federal, state, and local requirements without letting compliance drive our strategy. This means staying current on regulations from ACA to ERISA, managing audits and reporting, and partnering with legal and finance to ensure we're protected while still being progressive. You'll make compliance invisible to our Partners while keeping us bulletproof behind the scenes.
Leverage Data for Better Decisions You'll analyze benefits utilization, compensation trends, and wellness program participation to identify opportunities for improvement. You'll benchmark against industry standards while recognizing what makes Guarantee unique. Your recommendations will be grounded in data but guided by our values. You'll help leadership understand not just the cost of benefits, but the cost of not having the right benefits.
Support Partners Through Life's Moments When Partners face life's challenges-medical emergencies, family changes, financial hardships-you'll be their guide through available resources. You'll handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism, ensuring Partners feel supported, not processed. You'll be the human face of our benefits programs when Partners need it most.
Innovate for Tomorrow You'll keep us ahead of the curve by researching emerging benefits trends, evaluating new vendors, and proposing innovative solutions. Whether it's mental health apps, student loan assistance, or caregiving support, you'll help us anticipate Partner needs before they become retention issues. You'll balance innovation with practicality, ensuring new programs deliver real value.
WHAT YOU BRING
* Benefits Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience in benefits administration and program management. You've managed open enrollments, worked with brokers and carriers, and understand the full spectrum of employee benefits. You know ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA aren't just acronyms-they're critical compliance requirements.
* Compensation Knowledge: Understanding of compensation structures, pay equity principles, and market pricing. Experience with salary surveys, job evaluations, and incentive plan design. ESOP experience is highly valued-you understand how employee ownership changes the compensation conversation.
* Communication Excellence: You can explain a high-deductible health plan to a 22-year-old project engineer and retirement planning to a 60-year-old project manager with equal effectiveness. Your written communications are clear and engaging. You can present to leadership and facilitate workshops with equal confidence.
* Analytical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS systems and advanced Excel skills. You can analyze utilization trends, model plan changes, and create dashboards that tell a story. You understand statistics but can explain findings without the math.
* Wellness Program Development: Experience designing and implementing wellness initiatives that actually drive engagement. You understand behavior change theory and know how to create programs that stick. You've measured ROI on wellness investments and can prove their value.
* Cultural Awareness: You understand that benefits and compensation are deeply personal topics tied to values, family, and identity. You approach every conversation with empathy and respect for individual circumstances. You recognize that equity doesn't always mean equal.
* Project Management: Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously-from annual enrollment to wellness program launches. You're organized, detail-oriented, and never miss deadlines. You can lead cross-functional teams and vendor relationships with ease.
* Construction Industry Knowledge (Preferred): Understanding of union agreements, prevailing wage, certified payroll, and the unique benefits needs of field workers. You know why contractors care about EMR ratings and how safety impacts everything we do.
WHY GUARANTEE?
As our Benefits and Compensation Specialist, you'll have:
* Meaningful Impact: Your work directly affects the financial security and wellbeing of hundreds of Partners and their families-this isn't theoretical HR work, it's real-life impact
* ESOP Advantage: Work for an employee-owned company where your contributions to the company's success directly benefit you through ownership-you're building your own wealth while helping others build theirs
* Innovation Freedom: Leadership that's willing to try new approaches to benefits and wellness-if you can prove it will help our Partners, we'll find a way to make it happen
* Resources to Succeed: Investment in the tools, training, and partnerships needed to build best-in-class programs
* Career Growth: As we expand, our benefits and compensation needs become more sophisticated-this role is positioned to grow into senior leadership
* Values Alignment: Join an organization where taking care of people isn't just policy-it's fundamental to who we are
THE GUARANTEE WAY
This role embodies our five cultural pillars:
* Lessons Learned: You'll continuously gather feedback from Partners about what's working and what's not, using these insights to evolve our programs and avoid repeating mistakes
* Integration: You'll ensure our benefits and compensation programs unite rather than divide, creating equity across different roles, locations, and divisions
* High Risk Management: You'll protect our Partners and the company through compliant, well-designed programs that mitigate financial and health risks for everyone
* Data Driven Decisions: You'll use analytics to guide program design, prove ROI, and ensure every dollar spent on benefits delivers maximum value for our Partners
* Leadership Development: You'll empower Partners to take ownership of their health and wealth, providing the education and tools they need to make decisions that serve their long-term success
READY TO TAKE CARE OF THOSE WHO BUILD OUR SUCCESS?
If you're ready to be more than a benefits administrator-to be an advocate, educator, and architect of programs that truly serve our Partners-we want to meet you. Join us in proving that when you take care of your people, business success follows.

Director of IT
Guarantee Electrical 3.8
Guarantee Electrical job in Saint Louis, MO
Job Title: Director of Information Technology Reports to: Vice President of Data & Technology JOIN OUR TEAM Guarantee Electrical is seeking a Director of Information Technology who understands that in electrical contracting, technology isn't just about keeping the lights on-it's about powering our competitive advantage. You'll be the architect of our technology infrastructure, the guardian of operational excellence, and the innovator who ensures our field teams have the tools they need to build tomorrow's electrical systems today. If you believe that great IT leadership means being both a strategic business partner and a hands-on problem solver, and you're energized by the challenge of supporting operations from the boardroom to the jobsite, we want to meet you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Drive Strategic Technology Vision You'll align IT initiatives with our business objectives, developing long-term strategies that don't just support growth-they accelerate it. This means understanding where the electrical contracting industry is heading, anticipating technology needs before they become urgent, and ensuring every technology investment has a clear path to ROI. You'll translate complex technical possibilities into business opportunities that our leadership team can rally behind.
Master the Infrastructure You'll oversee our entire technology ecosystem-from network infrastructure and servers to cloud services and everything in between. But this isn't just about maintaining systems; it's about optimizing them for both our office professionals planning million-dollar projects and our field electricians wiring complex installations. You'll ensure 99.9% uptime because when systems go down, projects stop moving.
Lead Technology Transformation You'll champion the implementation of game-changing technologies-from cutting-edge construction software to mobile solutions that put power in our field teams' hands. Whether it's integrating Viewpoint Vista, deploying Accubid, or leveraging Bluebeam for digital workflows, you'll ensure new technologies enhance rather than disrupt our operations. You'll be our chief innovation officer, always scanning the horizon for what's next.
Build and Empower Your Team You'll lead a diverse team of IT professionals-from desktop support to field specialists to project managers. But you won't just manage them; you'll develop them into technology leaders who share your passion for excellence. You'll create a culture where innovation thrives, problems are opportunities, and every team member understands how their work impacts our success.
Execute Complex Projects You'll orchestrate multi-location IT initiatives that would make most IT directors nervous-system implementations across dozens of sites, infrastructure upgrades during live operations, technology rollouts to hundreds of field personnel. You'll manage these projects with the precision of a Swiss watch, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery without disrupting the business.
Optimize Every Dollar You'll develop and manage IT budgets that maximize value while minimizing waste. This means negotiating with vendors like our business depends on it (because it does), finding creative solutions to expensive problems, and proving that technology investments deliver measurable returns. You'll treat the company's money like your own.
Ensure Business Continuity You'll develop disaster recovery plans that let our leadership sleep at night. When systems fail (and they will), you'll have backup plans for your backup plans. You'll ensure that whether it's a cyber attack, natural disaster, or simple hardware failure, our operations continue with minimal disruption.
Enable Field Excellence You'll ensure our field teams have the technology they need to work efficiently and safely. This means robust mobile device management, reliable jobsite connectivity, and field-specific solutions that work in the real world-not just in theory. You understand that a foreman's tablet is just as critical as a server, and you'll support both with equal dedication.
Partner Across the Organization You'll work hand-in-hand with our Director of Cybersecurity to ensure our infrastructure is both powerful and protected. You'll collaborate with business units to understand their needs before they become problems. You'll be equally comfortable presenting to the Guarantee Leadership Team, troubleshooting with field personnel, or strategizing with fellow directors.
Lead Through Acquisition As we grow through acquisition, you'll be the technology integration expert who brings new companies into our ecosystem seamlessly. You'll standardize systems, consolidate infrastructure, and ensure that newly acquired teams feel supported, not disrupted, by technology changes.
WHAT YOU BRING
* Deep IT Leadership Experience: 10+ years in information technology with at least 5 years in management roles. You've led IT teams through growth, transformation, and challenge. You've developed strategies, implemented them, and measured their success.
* Infrastructure Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of network systems, servers, cloud platforms, and enterprise architecture. You understand both on-premise and cloud solutions and know when to use each. You can design scalable infrastructure that grows with the business.
* Construction Industry Insight: Experience with electrical contracting or construction technology is preferred. You understand project-based work, know why jobsite connectivity matters, and speak the language of construction. Familiarity with Viewpoint Vista, Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar platforms is a plus.
* Strategic Business Partnership: You think like a business leader who happens to be great at technology. You can translate IT concepts into business value, align technology initiatives with company goals, and influence without authority. You're seen as a trusted advisor, not just the IT person.
* Team Development Excellence: Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing IT teams. You hire for potential, develop for performance, and create cultures where talented people want to stay. You're a mentor who creates more leaders, not just followers.
* Project Management Expertise: Strong project management skills with experience leading complex, multi-location initiatives. PMP certification preferred but not required if you have the battle scars to prove your expertise. You deliver on time and on budget, period.
* Vendor Management Savvy: You negotiate like a pro, manage vendors like partners, and always have alternatives. You understand contracts, SLAs, and how to get maximum value from every vendor relationship.
* Financial Acumen: Experience developing and managing multi-million dollar IT budgets. You understand CapEx vs. OpEx, can build compelling business cases, and know how to demonstrate technology ROI to skeptical executives.
* Communication Excellence: You can explain complex technical concepts to electricians and electrical concepts to programmers. Your written communication is clear and concise. You present with confidence and listen with intent.
* Educational Foundation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field. Or equivalent experience that proves formal education isn't everything.
WHY GUARANTEE?
As our Director of Information Technology, you'll have:
* Strategic Impact: Direct influence on the technology strategy of a growing, dynamic organization where IT is recognized as a business enabler, not a cost center
* Resource Investment: Leadership that understands technology requires investment and is willing to fund the right initiatives for the right reasons
* Growth Opportunity: As we expand through organic growth and acquisition, your role and influence will expand accordingly
* Industry Leadership: The chance to define what great IT looks like in electrical contracting, setting standards others will follow
* Cultural Fit: Join a team that values collaboration, innovation, and getting things done right the first time
* Work-Life Integration: While we work hard and occasional after-hours support is needed, we respect that you have a life outside of Guarantee
WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL
* Primary Location: Corporate office
* Travel: Regular travel to branch locations and occasional jobsite visits (approximately 25%)
* Flexibility: Remote work options for specific situations, but presence matters in this leadership role
* On-Call: Availability during critical implementations and emergency situations
THE GUARANTEE WAY
This role is critical to living our five cultural pillars:
* Lessons Learned: You'll build systems that capture and share knowledge, ensuring every IT incident makes us stronger and every project teaches us something new
* Integration: You'll break down technology silos, ensuring systems talk to each other and teams collaborate effectively across locations and divisions
* High Risk Management: You'll implement redundancies, backups, and failsafes that protect our operations, ensuring technology risks never become business disasters
* Data Driven Decisions: You'll provide the infrastructure and tools that turn data into intelligence, enabling informed decisions at every level of the organization
* Leadership Development: You'll build technology leaders throughout your team and teach the organization how to leverage technology for competitive advantage
READY TO POWER OUR DIGITAL FUTURE?
If you're ready to be more than an IT Director-to be a business leader who happens to be exceptional at technology-we want to meet you. Join us in building the technology foundation that will power Guarantee's growth for the next decade and beyond.

Director of IT
Guarantee Electrical 3.8
Guarantee Electrical job in Saint Louis, MO
Job Description
Job Title: Director of Information Technology
Reports to: Vice President of Data & Technology
JOIN OUR TEAM
Guarantee Electrical is seeking a Director of Information Technology who understands that in electrical contracting, technology isn't just about keeping the lights on-it's about powering our competitive advantage.
Deep IT Leadership Experience: 10+ years in information technology with at least 5 years in management roles. You've led IT teams through growth, transformation, and challenge. You've developed strategies, implemented them, and measured their success.
Infrastructure Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of network systems, servers, cloud platforms, and enterprise architecture. You understand both on-premise and cloud solutions and know when to use each. You can design scalable infrastructure that grows with the business.
Construction Industry Insight: Experience with electrical contracting or construction technology is preferred. You understand project-based work, know why jobsite connectivity matters, and speak the language of construction. Familiarity with Viewpoint Vista, Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar platforms is a plus.
Strategic Business Partnership: You think like a business leader who happens to be great at technology. You can translate IT concepts into business value, align technology initiatives with company goals, and influence without authority. You're seen as a trusted advisor, not just the IT person.
Team Development Excellence: Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing IT teams. You hire for potential, develop for performance, and create cultures where talented people want to stay. You're a mentor who creates more leaders, not just followers.
Project Management Expertise: Strong project management skills with experience leading complex, multi-location initiatives. PMP certification preferred but not required if you have the battle scars to prove your expertise. You deliver on time and on budget, period.
Vendor Management Savvy: You negotiate like a pro, manage vendors like partners, and always have alternatives. You understand contracts, SLAs, and how to get maximum value from every vendor relationship.
Financial Acumen: Experience developing and managing multi-million dollar IT budgets. You understand CapEx vs. OpEx, can build compelling business cases, and know how to demonstrate technology ROI to skeptical executives.
Communication Excellence: You can explain complex technical concepts to electricians and electrical concepts to programmers. Your written communication is clear and concise. You present with confidence and listen with intent.
Educational Foundation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field. Or equivalent experience that proves formal education isn't everything.
WHY GUARANTEE?
As our Director of Information Technology, you'll have:
Strategic Impact: Direct influence on the technology strategy of a growing, dynamic organization where IT is recognized as a business enabler, not a cost center
Resource Investment: Leadership that understands technology requires investment and is willing to fund the right initiatives for the right reasons
Growth Opportunity: As we expand through organic growth and acquisition, your role and influence will expand accordingly
Industry Leadership: The chance to define what great IT looks like in electrical contracting, setting standards others will follow
Cultural Fit: Join a team that values collaboration, innovation, and getting things done right the first time
Work-Life Integration: While we work hard and occasional after-hours support is needed, we respect that you have a life outside of Guarantee
WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL
Primary Location: Corporate office
Travel: Regular travel to branch locations and occasional jobsite visits (approximately 25%)
Flexibility: Remote work options for specific situations, but presence matters in this leadership role
On-Call: Availability during critical implementations and emergency situations
THE GUARANTEE WAY
This role is critical to living our five cultural pillars:
Lessons Learned: You'll build systems that capture and share knowledge, ensuring every IT incident makes us stronger and every project teaches us something new
Integration: You'll break down technology silos, ensuring systems talk to each other and teams collaborate effectively across locations and divisions
High Risk Management: You'll implement redundancies, backups, and failsafes that protect our operations, ensuring technology risks never become business disasters
Data Driven Decisions: You'll provide the infrastructure and tools that turn data into intelligence, enabling informed decisions at every level of the organization
Leadership Development: You'll build technology leaders throughout your team and teach the organization how to leverage technology for competitive advantage
READY TO POWER OUR DIGITAL FUTURE?
If you're ready to be more than an IT Director-to be a business leader who happens to be exceptional at technology-we want to meet you. Join us in building the technology foundation that will power Guarantee's growth for the next decade and beyond.
