The Business Resource Center (BRC) is Guardian's advanced sales department, and we are seeking a Advanced Planning Consultant. We are an organization providing superior case consultation to our field force on their prospect and client situations where we concentrate our efforts on the high income, high net worth and closely held business owner marketplaces.
Our associates are thought leaders in the advanced markets world applying uncommon thinking to common or unique planning issues or strategies. We help protect, expand, and secure Guardian's agency distribution by working with financial representatives who provide planning strategies to high income/high net worth or business owner clients.
**You will**
Utilize proprietary software platforms to uncover sales opportunities for Guardian's various product lines, including life and disability insurance, mutual funds and annuities, by:
+ Preparing business valuations and model income and estate tax reductions strategies
+ Reviewing 1040 returns as well as 1120/1120S/1065 business tax returns
+ Analyzing balance sheet and income statements to evaluate the liquidity, solvency and financial strength of businesses
+ Work closely with the BRCs Advanced Case Design Team to create proprietary/unique presentation packages/sales concepts to drive activity and sales within the advanced markets space.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
+ Provide technical case support to financial representatives and brokers to identify advanced markets opportunities and design cases that fulfill the needs of prospects and clients and drive sales.
+ Work closely with Guardian's broker dealer (Park Avenue Securities) to drive revenue through PAS's multifaceted product platform.
+ Educate producers, so they can effectively convey advanced planning recommendations to prospects and clients and educate a client's professional tax and legal advisors on concepts and techniques unfamiliar to them.
+ Demonstrate superior presentations skills in all areas of advanced planning.
+ Clearly and concisely explain the tax, legal, and financial/cost aspects of various sales opportunities and financial products in the business, personal, estate, executive benefits, asset protection, retirement planning and charitable planning markets.
+ Collaborate with key enterprise-wide collaborators to facilitate "one-stop shopping" for producers to ease the process of conducting business and to ensure complete and thorough case analysis to discover all planning and cross-offer opportunities.
+ Effectively partner with producers by thoroughly understanding the roles, responsibilities, opportunities, challenges, and mentality of a producer.
+ Be the subject matter expert on various advanced planning concepts to assist in creating and updating marketing collateral.

+ Juris Doctor (JD) law degree required

Qualifications
* 6+ years of DBA experience in a z/OS / MVS environment
* 6+ years database administration for IMS in an IBM mainframe environment
* 4-year college degree or equivalent

* Knowledge of IMS Database Manager, DBD source and generation, understanding of Database Recovery Control [DBRC] information and commands, BMP and basic DL/I coding imbedded in COBOL source.

* Familiarity with DB2 Utility JCL, execution, restart, an understanding of utility impact on DB2 object availability, and Database backup and recovery techniques.
* Understanding of DB2 Data Definition Language [DDL] constructs is required and experience with DB2 Administration tool or similar tool is a plus.
* Knowledge of SQL and basic DB2 development techniques used in application coding. Ability to understand COBOL and SQL/PL for analysis and partnering with application area personnel.
* z/OS, TSO, ISPF, JCL, and SDSF
* Coding and debugging z/OS mainframe batch jobs, the applicant's work and for application development team members needing assistance is required. JCL knowledge is a must as is basic ISPF menu and TSO development experience.
* Familiarity with RACF, rules protecting datasets, and how RACF interacts with both IMS and DB2 instances is a plus.
* Knowledge of source code editor commands, library maintenance, ISPF menus, listing of cataloged dataset information, TSO job scheduling, and the ability to read JES output from jobs to diagnose issues is required. Experience with System Display and Search Facility [SDSF] or other z/OS JES output control facility is a plus.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing procedures and tools required to support development and testing activities
* Assisting in all operational environments in the maintenance of production data and data archiving
* Functioning as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for solving complex problems and supporting IMS and stored procedure calls.

General Summary:
The Accounting and Finance Development Program provides Associates with high visibility within the Finance organization, as well as numerous opportunities to develop their career. The objective of the program is to develop and grow the Associate's financial and business acumen, as well as the leadership skills necessary to prepare them for a Director role in the Finance organization upon successful completion of the Program.

Job Rotations
The program consists of 3-4 cross functional job rotations within the Finance organization, and occasionally in other business units. Our Information Security area at Unum is hiring a Director, IT Information Security, Risk and Resiliency. This role leads a functional area within the Enterprise Information Security Risk Management department. They are responsible for partnering in the design, deployment and maintenance of a global information security program that addresses Security Engineering needs for Unum Group and its partners. **General Summary:**
The Information Security Metrics and Quality Data Analyst is responsible for simple to moderately complex data profiling, analysis and mapping with little to no oversight and exhibits a mastery of the tools and technical skillset subject matter expertise with data organization and visualization supporting information security (cyber security) risks and operations. This candidate works closely with Security Analysts, Security Engineers, Project Managers, and Global Information Security leadership. They deliver to high quality KRI/KPI and are able to accurately estimate work required to deliver on their responsibilities. They use critical thinking skills applied to data analysis in order to advance the delivery and maintenance of information security KRI and KPI.
**Job Specifications**
+ Bachelors Degree preferred, and/or equivalent experience
+ 4+ years experience with demonstrated success at the Data Analyst 1 level or equivalent experience
+ Mastery of data profiling and analysis concepts, including data anomalies, data mapping activities.
+ Mastery of data modeling concepts
+ Mastery of PowerBI data modeling and visualization development
+ Clearly demonstrates data analytical ability and critical thinking skills
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks by paying close attention to detail
+ Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
+ Ability to embrace change, adapt to the unexpected, and focus energies, people, and solutions on practical and positive results

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Responsible for data profiling and analysis to evaluate data sources to determine the best source for business information.
+ Responsible for source to target data mapping specifications (e.g. source to target can be from one DBMS table to another DBMS table, from a DBMS table into a canonical message structure, etc.)
+ Design simple to moderately complex, flexible data models (conceptual and logical) and visualizations through collaborations with analysts, engineers, and leadership. Leads sizing and estimation activities within the agile team.
+ Create/Capture documentation (metadata) that is up-to-date.
+ Collaborate with the test engineers to perform data validation and testing activities as appropriate.
+ Develop and maintain knowledge of information security practices and the insurance industry.
+ Develop and maintain knowledge of information security-owned and other relevant data sources.
+ Adhere to approved architectural standards.
+ Uses critical thinking skills to recommend and implement data management practices that advance business value.
+ Thinks with the mind of the end customer at all times, ensuring solutions seek to improve the customer experience and delight their customers.
