1945

When Doctor Norman Vincent Peale and his wife, Ruth Stafford Peale, cofounded Guideposts in 1945, they envisioned an organization that would help people from all walks of life achieve their maximum personal and spiritual potential.

1952

Since its first publication in 1952, Doctor Peale's inspirational bestseller, The Power of Positive Thinking, has sold more than 20 million copies in 42 languages worldwide.

1977

1977 2nd edition, tight binding, cover has tiny tear at top edge & crease at bottom corner, former price in black marker on corner of endpaper- no other markings found, 2 interior pages have long creases at top corner.

1988

The Center for Positive Thinking was built in 1988 and distributed PLUS: The Power of Faith magazine (formerly Creative Help for Daily Living), filled with positive messages by Norman Vincent Peale and other inspirational writers.

1993

On Christmas Eve 1993, Doctor Peale died at his home in Pawling, NY, at age 95.
