Smouse recently joined Newfield from Noble Energy where he served as Human Resources Director for the past seven years overseeing workforce planning, talent acquisition and development and contract employee management. Smouse has 20 years of industry experience in human resources, working with organizations that include Anadarko Petroleum, Mirant Corporation, Vastar Resources / BP and ARCO Oil and Gas Company. His professional affiliations include the Equilar Advisory Board and Society for Human Resources Management Association. Smouse also has been active with Junior Achievement in Southeast Texas where he has led the elementary school classroom programs. He currently sits on the Montgomery County American Heart Association Board. Smouse holds a business administration degree from Southeast Missouri State University.
