* Ensure required. maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems .
* Lead the repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical and functional components of the aircraft including airframes, engine components, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems .
* Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements .
* Ensure completion of work order sign-offs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork in a timely manner .
* Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications .
* Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely .
* Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment .
* Operate and oversee use of special support equipment used in removal and installations of major components .
* Coordinate with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed .
Additional Functions:
* Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean .
* Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment .

This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.

Coordinate movement of material: 50%
* Distribute new inbound parts from DFW warehouse to appropriate carts or totes.
* Return material to DFW warehouse
* Transport assets to shipping area for outbound to DFW warehouse

Ensure that all warehousing and distribution functions in Mississippi provide a best in class service to internal and external customers.
Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, FAA, ATF, Environmental, Customs, and all other regulations.
Monitor and report on performances metrics to senior leaders to ensure the accomplishment of company goals and activities supporting our customers.

* Support the manager in planning and prioritizing the workload of all assigned personnel to ensure on time delivery of components in accordance with delivery schedules.

* Lead the management of the rotable pool inventory, ensuring adequate coverage for all scheduled and unscheduled removals in a timely manner.

* Function as the primary interface to internal MRO shops and customer facing departments regarding the process of core returns from customers.

* Ensure the timely recovery of core units to meet OEM and third-party MRO warranty claim deadlines.

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Senior Aircraft Technician (Mechanical) to join our Maintenance & Repair (MAR) team in Grand Prairie, TX.
You will be part of a small team that performs detailed inspection, assembly, installation, repair or replacement of aircraft components and systems, maintenance or refurbishing of aircraft and function check of components.

Your challenges:
* Conduct operational checks of complete systems to verify proper functioning of components and systems.
* Perform troubleshooting to diagnose malfunction or failures on the following aircraft systems: aircraft equipment furnishings, fire protection, fuel system, hydraulics, landing gear, doors, fuselage, stabilizer, rotor systems, power plant and engine controls.
* Assure that completed work complies with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company specifications.
* Follow all OSHA, safety and environmental regulations.
* Complete forms and records pertaining to completion of assigned work.
* Participate in flight tests on aircraft and log work to be performed, as required. Interface with customer for delivery; prepare for delivery inspection and any problems customer may discover.
Your boarding pass:
* Minimum of six (6) years of aviation maintenance experience.
* Current A&P license OR 18 months of maintenance experience on Airbus manufactured helicopters.
* Helicopter maintenance experience, Airbus Helicopter airframe experience, and Safran Turbomeca engine experience are HIGHLY desirable.
* Must be able to read, write, and speak English

* Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Daily

* Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Daily
* Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Daily
* Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Daily
* Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 60lbs/27kgs. Daily
* Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Daily
* Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. Weekly
* Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Daily
* Climbing: Must be able to climb ladders and aircraft foot holds on a daily basis to reach the top of the Aircraft for inspections and or maintenance activities. Daily
* Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor. Daily
* Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. As needed or required
* Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Daily
* Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
* Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.

All activities to be in accordance with Repair Station requirements ensuring all parts and assemblies meet conformance.
Set up and operate necessary test equipment in accordance with required. doc to perform functional and operational tests of mech and elect acft components for return to service or for initial cert for new products.
Inspect all detail parts using blueprints, component and/or overhaul manuals and other required. maintenance data to ensure conformity requirements are met.
Showing superior tech skill, remove skins and related components on flight controls and secondary structure components, locate and install/reinstall parts.
Demonstrate mastery of repair techniques and concepts using acceptable practices including troubleshooting, soldering and application of protective coatings.
Demonstrate expertise in use, maintenance, and calibration requirements of precision measuring and inspect tools.
Maintain and utilize all required. paperwork in accordance with FAA Repair Station requirements.
Mastery of shop material and component flow through via work orders in accordance with Repair Station requirements.
Comply with all company and legislative environmental health and safety regs.
Additional Functions:
Lay-out, remove, fabricate and/or install major and minor repairs to flight controls and other secondary structure components using honeycomb core sandwich construction techniques, composite repair techniques, test bench procedures, hydraulic press procedures, and servicing carts. .
Fabricate and repair sheetmetal and associated mech parts, components and/or equipment by rolling, shrinking, stretching, braking, riveting or other mech means. .
Remove & install APUs and perform all required. APU maintenance for ALL GAC acft models. .
Provide tech support to Customer Support Coordinators and Tech Services. .
Perform complex troublehshooting and subsequent repairs to electronic assemblies and subassemblies by removing and replacing circuit components, either through hole or surface mount, using acceptable soldering and circuit repair techniques. .
Fabricate and repair wiring and electrical assemblies and harnesses utilizing acceptable repair and fabrication processes including splicing, soldering, and pinning of wires. .
Perform, in conjunction with QC Reps, mass weight and balance on repaired flight controls using blueprints and required. FAA Repair Station forms. .
Assist with training Acft Component Repair Techs. .
Perform other duties as assigned.

* Ensures aircraft/components are airworthy prior to any flight activities .
* Mentors technicians on effective documentation .

* Provides technical support to inspection personnel in supporting the FAA and/or CAA documented requirements .
