Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. 2 years of application installation, fabrication or related experience. preferred. Experience in aerospace industry. Position Purpose:The Interior Installation Technician II works under general supervision to remove, install, and/or fabricate aircraft interiors, which may include items such as trim, carpet, sound proofing, light structure, cabinetry, panels and other accessories. All work performed should be in accordance with company design specifications, quality standards and completed work should meet customer expectations.Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
Safely perform aircraft removal, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors (which may include galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors and panels). Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with Repair Station procedures, internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs and quality specifications. .
Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work.
Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as hand tools, band saws, shears, sanders and brakes. Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools.
Prepare and install aircraft interior items in accordance with company operation procedures and quality standards.
Remove and re-install nut plates, inserts and other fasteners used in aircraft interiors. Apply proper use of hardware and fittings on aircraft installations.
Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and use personal protective equipment as required. Address unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk.
Assist technicians, under supervision, with aircraft maintenance requirements.
Adapt to sudden schedule changes.
Additional Functions:
Work with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that reduce cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement techniques. .
Make and use simple patterns for own use employing standardized procedures. .
In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required. .
Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
Ability to use hand/power tools and equipment associated with installation and removal of interiors.
Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds and work any shift.
Must be computer literate.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

🔧 About the Role
As a BAS / HVAC Controls Technician, you will install, program, commission, service, and troubleshoot Building Automation Systems (BAS) and commercial HVAC controls across various client facilities. You will work hands-on with DDC hardware, system programming, sensors, actuators, and networked building controls to ensure buildings run efficiently, comfortably, and reliably.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
Install, wire, program, and commission BAS controllers, DDC panels, field devices, and HVAC system controls.
Diagnose and repair controls issues including hardware faults, communication failures, airflow/temperature issues, and device malfunctions.
Perform point-to-point checkouts, loop tuning, functional testing, calibration, and equipment startup.
Modify and load control logic sequences, BAS graphics, alarms, trend logs, and system configuration files.
Integrate BAS with BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks networks.
Provide responsive customer service, system training, and technical guidance to end users.
Maintain accurate documentation, service tickets, system updates, and close-out reports.
🎓 Qualifications
3+ years of experience in BAS, HVAC controls, or commercial mechanical systems.
Strong electrical & controls wiring skills (low-voltage, sensors, conduit, terminations).
Hands-on experience with DDC start-up, troubleshooting, programming, and integration.
Knowledge of BAS communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, etc.).
Experience with any major controls manufacturer is a plus: Trane, JCI/Metasys, Siemens, Honeywell, Distech, Carrier, Delta Controls, or similar.
Valid driver's license & reliable transportation.

Primary Job Functions:
Performs electrical and mechanical inspection and maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure peak performance
Perform specific scheduled maintenance tasks per the scope of work. Including documenting the equipment's operational data with a designed log.
Uses experience and technical skills in system operations to determine service requirements
Ability to interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location, and operation of the system(s)
Represents the company in a positive manner to other trades, contractors, and owners
Advise the customer of any system issues found. Communicates within our department to provide corrective actions to be taken
Suggest solutions beyond repairs that are beneficial to the customer
Works in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
Submits required paperwork in a timely manner

Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
Routine service and inspections, regardless of size or location of the HVAC mechanical equipment being inspected or serviced, where this work is done as a periodic and routine procedure by the Employer, such as:
Change and service filters
Oiling and greasing
Adjust or replace belts
Clean cooling towers, coils, evaporator and condenser tubes and general housekeeping
Mechanical systems operation under contract with customer
Cleaning and routine maintenance of solar energy equipment
Indoor Air Quality related work including duct systems and drain pans
What we look for
Required
Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
Vocational School four-year program or an associate degree in mechanical systems, air conditioning or similar field
1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry
Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques
Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner
Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people
Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site
