Education, Experience and Knowledge
Degree in Civil Engineering, Computer Science or related field. MS in Transportation Engineering preferred
2-4 years of customer-facing experience in a SaaS or enterprise software company is highly preferred
Knowledge and/or experience on transportation systems in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Maintenance, pavement, bridges, fleet, safety and/or facility management.
Strong technical acumen, with database programming skills strongly preferred

Division: Trimble Field Solutions
The Trimble Construction Application Specialist is the technical expert for Trimble Construction products. Their role is to understand the workflows of our end customers and to educate and train our distribution partners how the Trimble solutions complement and optimize those workflows. They will also communicate with the end customer to understand their pain points and create a solution that may encompass varying solutions across the Trimble portfolio. Ensuring that the channel can quote, install and commission these solutions is a critical role of this position. Will also work with the training department to determine training needs of the dealer as well as help develop the necessary content.
The Construction Application Specialist will need an intimate understanding of civil construction processes and a strong knowledge of construction principles and how Trimble solutions apply to those principles. Solution Application Specialists are the technical experts for all Trimble Construction solutions.
Skills and Experience:

Beta process is shortened due to deep engagement by the Solution Application Specialist team and the dealer
The daily tasks become more proactive and less reactive. Current SAE's managers spend a lot of time post sales supporting the dealers on installation and setup and oftentimes in troubleshooting. The role should be preparing the dealers to be more self sufficient so that TFS managers can assist at the sales phase
Create a “Dealer Technical Staff Report Card” for each dealer in the Field Application Specialists territory. This scorecard will grade the dealer on their capabilities to sell and support the 4 main buckets of Trimble solutions: Earthmoving, Off Machine, Specialty Construction and Software. Update the report card on a quarterly basis to determine future quarter priorities
