A summer camp staff member will provide leadership as appropriate to his/her specific job position. SIT's typically will serve for one or two weeks at a time and only work 40 hours a week. They also may take Merit Badges as a Scout. Nature, COPE and Climbing, and others General duties of a camp staff member include: As a SIT you will be assisting in all phases of our program Help in the implementation of all mealtime, afternoon, or evening program as assigned by your supervisor Be on time to all scheduled program offerings that you are assigned Wear the appropriate scouting uniform at all times Qualifications: Willingness to be a member of Scouting America Training and experience sufficient to meet the needs of the assigned position SITs must be at least 15 years of age or older Experience working with youth and teaching in an outdoor environment a plus Scouting experience, a plus but not required.

Humane World for Animals, a global leader in animal advocacy and protection, is seeking a Senior Veterinary Technician for Black Beauty Ranch (BBR) in Murchison, Texas. In this position you will perform clinical treatments, anesthesia, diagnostic procedures, radiology, prescribing and administering pharmacy items, chemical capture, and surgical assistance under the supervision of the Director of Veterinary Medicine at Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch. You will also supervise and implement the veterinary technician internship/externship program. Responsibilities: Provides all aspects of veterinary care for animals under the supervision of the Director of Veterinary Medicine at Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch; Conducts diagnostics including fecal analysis, blood film evaluation, cytology, urinalysis and diagnostic equipment usage. Procures and ships samples, prepares other testing procedures and maintains diagnostic equipment; Conducts anesthesia and anesthetic machinery during immobilizations on a wide variety of animals; Maintains medical records and logs for patient data, radiology, diagnostics, case dispositions, admissions, euthanasia, and controlled substances in accordance with regulations; Oversees medical supply inventory. Orders supplies and medications and logs-controlled substances; Performs chemical capture activities and supports veterinary staff with chemical capture operations. Maintains anesthetic equipment and keeps up-to-date skills and knowledge on the protocol for capture operations; Implements the internship/externship program including teaching and mentorship, development of procedures, work assignments, and performance evaluations; Cleans, organizes, and maintains veterinary hospital, mobile units, supplies, equipment, and chemical immobilization devices including purchasing and upkeep of inventory within budget; Administers, fills, and dispenses prescriptions as directed and instructs caregivers in the administration of prescriptions; Assists with euthanasia and necropsy procedures and arranges necropsy/disposal; Ensures the hospital meets regulatory standards in accordance with state regulations, GFAS, DEA and OSHA; Attends and obtains the necessary continuing education via conferences to maintain veterinary technician license; Participates in the emergency preparedness program and assists in preparing operating procedures for disaster response, completing required FEMA training as needed; Performs other duties or responsibilities, as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements: Associate degree in Veterinary Technology required; A minimum of five (5) years of experience or more in veterinary technology required; Experience in zoo animal/exotic animal or equine medicine required; Must have and maintain a License as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, or LVT) required; Must have and maintain a Texas state Veterinary Technician license prior to the start date; Ability to work and train with the Animal Care Director and Director of Veterinary Medicine on euthanasia procedures and protocols required; Must have or be able to obtain and maintain up-to-date rabies prophylaxis and titer and TB testing; Must be skilled in a variety of laboratory testing and techniques; Proficiency of Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); Strong written and verbal communication skills; Attention to detail and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes; Strong interpersonal skills are necessary; Strong interest in animal protection issues preferred.
