Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip on a daily basis. Experience working with flatbed, SD, RGN and dry van trailers. Drive safely and under DOT regulations tractor & trailer rigs to transport equipment to job sites. Electronic logging. Requires safe handling of loads, securing loads, tarping, tie-down, loading and unloading equipment. Adhere to safety requirements when hauling loads. Basic knowledge of industrial equipment and forklift operation Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure safety of workers and materials Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment - Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles. Ability to work well in a team environment. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques. Install ground rigging for yarding lines, attaching chokers to logs and then to the lines. Align, level, and anchor machinery. Fabricate, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools. Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment, ships, or theatrical sets. Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps. Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education): HS diploma or equivalent Possess valid Class A CDL with Air breaks and combo endorsements Minimum two (2) years proven driving experience at CDL level Minimum three (3) years proven experience or comparable field preferably within the construction service industry. Basic knowledge of operating equipment (Forklifts, man lifts, mobile platform lifts, etc.) Experienced knowledge of load securement and safe hauling practices Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment; hand, power and pneumatic tools. This includes merchandise picked up at vendor locations, returned by customers, and purchased from other wholesalers. Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses discovered in the course of making deliveries.     Primarily responsible for the support of the DC by efficiently delivering hardware related merchandise to Orgill, Inc. customers. The Delivery Driver also picks up customer returns and empty totes and transports them to the DC. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Must understand DOT regulations and safety related functions. Must be able to perform Pre-Trip and Post-Trip functions. Must be able to deliver and unload merchandise at customer stores, by hand when necessary. Must be able to complete all required paperwork (DOT logs, Manifests, Trip Reports and Fuel Reports) Must be familiar with the E-Log system. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must understand how to manage customer merchandise in a timely and safe manner. Must be able to direct traffic in the event of an accident or break down. Must be able to climb in and out of the cab of truck several times per day. Ability to take direction from Supervisor.
