* An average of at least twenty-four (24) hours of formal safety training each year for the past five years (typical training acceptable: Competent Person Excavation & Trenching, First Aid & CPR, Fall Protection Training, Electrical Hazards, Hazard Communication, Driver Training, Confined Space Hazards, Hazardous Material Training, etc.). Current 40 Hour Construction Hazard Awareness Course (EM385-1-1) and working knowledge of OSHA and EM385-1-1 and other state and federal agency safety requirements.

As part of the VDC (Virtual Design & Construction) team, you will help support our rapidly growing group as we scale up our GIS processes as a team. This is a unique role for the GIS community, and we are excited for this team member to join our group. This position is open to both new college graduates and experienced GIS professionals.
Location: California (must be willing to relocate to California, relocation assistance will be provided- This is NOT a remote based role)
Travel: This is a regional position and will be supporting the Southwest region based in California and will partner with the Southwest Regional GIS lead. This position will require frequent travel to project sites as needed to actively support field teams.
This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined based on factors such as experience and location.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will interface frequently between Solar field and design project team members to help drive project integration and technology innovation, implement GIS standardization across field teams, drive GIS adoption, host GIS trainings, and support overall VDC initiatives. Effective partnership with our E&I (Energy and Infrastructure) groups, Lean, Industrialization and field-integrated teams will be critical for the success of this position. The role will initially report to the Director of Integrated Technology and VDC for the Solar Group. A comprehensive training and onboarding program will be provided to help make this role successful. You will be joining a dynamic team of 12 VDC and GIS professionals.
Within each region you will help partner on approximately 2-6 projects. This position will require frequent travel to project sites as needed to help actively support field teams. It is expected that the team member will be on a site each day; however, a hybrid remote schedule (Approximately 80% on-site/20% remote) can be discussed and mutually agreed upon prior to the start of this role. It will require flexibility based on project needs. A rotation schedule option can also be discussed allowing for rotations home every 3 weeks for 5 days with all other workdays being on-site.

Project Engineering Intern positions include Engineering, Field Engineering (mechanical or civil), Cost Engineering, Safety Engineering, Estimating, Finance/Accounting, and Equipment/Maintenance. The Project Engineer Intern assists and supports Project Manager and Superintendent on assigned projects. The position works under direct supervision with mentorship, performs routine daily activities, and gathers and distributes information. During an internship with Skanska, you may have the opportunity to gain experience with coordinating project activities with direct supervision from the Project and/or Operations Manager, performing accounting activities with assistance, performing estimating functions as requested with assistance, and other duties as assigned.
**Project Engineering Intern Required Qualifications:**
+ Knowledge of basic phases of construction projects;
+ Knowledge of mathematics functions (geometry, basic algebra);
+ Computer skills (MS Office, HCSS, CGC, etc);
+ Ability to perform all work in a timely, professional, and efficient manner while effectively communicating and interacting with customers, clients, subcontractors, and other third parties;
+ Ability to present information in a clear and understandable manner in both written and verbal form;
+ Working towards a bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field or equivalent through experience
